Join Chef Robyne Low on an exciting culinary journey across the Australian landscape to discover various ingredients that are unique to this country in this fun cooking class in Perth!

On arrival, Chef Robyne Low will demonstrate and offer delicious tasting of her quick crocodile canape dish - Crostini with coconut milk and native lemongrass-infused crocodile fillet and crispy sea celery, before engaging in the cooking class.

Sourced with respect for indigenous wild harvesters through Australia and primarily Western Australia, ingredients such as Muntari berries, pink berry, lemon aspen, river mint and some fabulous native Australian game meats will be explored.

On the menu:

  • Native Australian breads with smoked macadamia nut butter
  • Seared red kangaroo fillet with sauteed Warrigal greens
  • Aniseed myrtle heirloom carrots
  • Pepperberry native sage goat’s cheese and wattleseed crackers
  • Sweet dessert of Geraldton wax posset and Davidson plum compote

At our newly designed hands-on culinary class, all participants will team-up to pairs following the same recipes guided by our chef to cook selected dishes while enjoying the delicious tastings of your own making!

At the end of the class, you'll get to enjoy the delicious native Australian food you've made. We are fully BYO and do provide glassware if needed (for large groups we ask that you bring an Esky as fridge space is limited).

Chef Robyne Low's 'RiverMint Dining' catering and 'The Cooking Professor' recognise the traditional custodians of this land, sea and community. We pay respect to elders past, present and emerging. We feel privileged to be able to work with native ingredients in keeping with the Noongar Six Seasons and value the guidance and knowledge imparted by the Aboriginal community.

What to bring
You don't need to bring anything. We supply everything you need, including your ingredients, aprons and recipes.

Please wear flat, enclosed shoes and we recommend comfortable clothes.

All of The Cooking Professor classes are BYO (alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, water and glassware are provided)
 
Suitable for

This is a fun indoor activity, suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 14 years old). An adult must accompany any attending kids, and must pay for a separate ticket.

Discover the joys of cooking in our fun, interactive learning environment at our culinary school in Perth! When you join one of our cooking classes, you join a small team and everyone focuses on making a different dish under the guidance of the instructor. After preparing your dish and learning some new recipes, we all sit down to share the food in a massive feast!

Our three-hour cooking classes in Perth have you cooking for two hours in our open-plan kitchen and we keep our groups small so you get plenty of one-on-one time with the instructor to ask questions, learn tips and tricks, and of course meet new people! We also cater for groups with our Corporate and Private Events – just ask! Our experienced instructors ensure you have a fun time in your food class, regardless of your age or skill level.

The food looked and tasted amazing, but it wasn't intimidating and I think I could recreate the dishes. The teacher was friendly and helpful. It was very interesting to learn about our native ingredients. A great class for beginners as well as more experienced cooks.

Robyne demonstrated and taught a number of new techniques, tips and tricks.
It was particularly special to be using natively grown ingredients from Western Australia and see just how flavourful, diverse, versatile they are.
