Your teacher, Heather Hunt is COVID-19 aware

This means that this teacher won't run a class if they've had flu symptoms in the last 14 days, and will adhere to relevant state restrictions (e.g. on maximum number of students per class)

This six-week art course is designed for everyone wishing to gain skills in painting and drawing. Whether you are a novice or as an extension or reconnection to your artistic expression.

You will be introduced and guided through choosing a composition, drawing using observation and painting. You will learn a variety of drawing and painting techniques, and the fundamentals of colour mixing, tones, choosing composition, texture and form using a variety of materials.

You will begin to develop and recognise your own unique style and a good understanding of the materials together with the confidence to continue painting.

Bring along an apron or old shirt to protect your clothes and everything else will be provided.

The classes run for two hours for any six weeks during school terms, we break during school holiday.

Tuesday Morning: 10:00-12:00pm

Thursday Evening: 7:00-9:00pm

Heather opened her Studio East Village Art House, located in leafy Balmain East initially to continue teaching art to adults and school children after school and during school holidays. She had been teaching as an early childhood educator and decided on a change incorporating the best part of her day, teaching art.

Now, she has decided to extend the workshops on offer to adults as well, with a wealth of talent in textile art as well Art workshops. She extended her interest and knowledge when she and her family set up home in Tokyo for five years where she learnt ceramics, Satchiko, Boro embroidery and Sumie ( ink painting) and she makes her own ink from charcoal and gold leaf. Her studio is bright and welcoming located in the front of the family home.
