What you'll do
Join Charlene from Botanista in this all-new workshop and learn how to build your own desktop paludarium. You will create a paludarium in your own bioscape cloud terrarium tank, measuring 30x18x 15cm, perfect for a bench or desktop.
Paludariums, simply put, are semi-aquatic terrariums. They can be the most lush, mossy and green terrariums used to house animal life or to display plants that love the higher humidity that a paludarium can offer.
Paludariums provide the opportunity to play with aquatic and terrestrial plant life, all in one container!
All materials are included in this workshop, including sculptural driftwood, choice of gravel and aquatic sands, specialist substrates, aquatic plants, terrarium plants and an air plant. This is a chance to be truly creative and learn about a living art form that allows for experimentation and imagination.
This is our most advanced terrarium class, it is recommended but not compulsory that you have completed a previous terrarium class. Places are very limited due to the volume of materials.
You will go home with a truly unique, beautiful creation of your very own.

Knowledge required
It is recommended to have done a previous terrarium class with us so that you're familiar with the basics of terrarium making, but this is not compulsory.

Botanista is a creative space in Port Noarlunga that melds workshops, South Australia's only Terrarium Bar and a beautiful shopfront filled with plants, terrariums and a dash of magic.
Owner of Botanista, Charlene Maney, opened Botanista in 2018 with a passion for plants, making gardening fun and bringing the community together.
Charlene has been an educator for over 20 years. Her experiences include teaching and overseeing the Indonesian language department in Canberra for the Department of Defence; and overseeing teaching staff as well as teaching several courses herself at the Worker's Education Association of South Australia.
Previous to opening Botanista, Charlene had been running her award-winning online store, Fleurieu Gifts and teaching botanical workshops since 2014. Many of the workshops held at Botanista have been running continuously since the early days of Fleurieu Gifts in 2014.
