Learn piano skills and composition in these tailored private piano classes in Sydney.

These piano lessons are suitable for beginners, preliminary and those wishing to complete AMEB Grades 1 to 8. For students who are seeking a more casual approach to piano, your teacher Liam Sanchez, a first-year student at Sydney Conservatorium of Music, will specially tailor non-book methods.

The genres you can cover include pop, jazz, classical and many more! The choice is up to you. If you're interested in writing your own music, your teacher can help you discover your own voice!

These classes can also be tailored to offer ear training, an essential skill for any musician wishing to arrange or learn various pieces of music. By developing one's ears to hear certain chords, melodic patterns or instrumental choices in a piece of music or song, you can come to a deeper appreciation of the music being learned and listened to, and will serve as a powerful tool for learning music of all genres and varying stages of difficulty.

Please note: Longer lessons are available if need be at a fixed rate of $25 per half hour.

Knowledge Required
No prior knowledge or skills in piano required! These private classes are tailored to your needs.

What you'll get
If completing the AMEB Grades, students will receive certificates from successful AMEB exams. Students who don't do AMEB can still be powerful communicators of music as their counterparts who choose to do AMEB.

Students wishing to write their own music will develop confidence in the genres of their choice and writing for piano and other instruments. Learning a musical instrument serves as a long-term hobby but also can translate into a career in music and an overall passion for music.

Aspiring composers and arrangers will have the ears to help identify and explain musical traits (e.g. harmony, melody, instrumentation) that define the music they listen to and justify compositional/arrangement choices.

What to bring
If completing the AMEB Grades, students should only bring the Grade books available to purchase for themselves. Otherwise, there are no requirements at all, besides a piano/keyboard to practice with.
