This beginner-friendly pottery class is conducted in a small group (with a maximum of four students) creating a relaxed and effective learning environment. You will learn about centring, opening and raising the clay on the pottery wheel.

Bettina’s 'wheelfulness' approach integrates the psychology of mindfulness and will encourage you to embrace stillness and presence in the creative flow.

For this nature-inspired pottery class, Bettina is teaming up with her plant-lover friend, Sabine, who will provide a selection of complimentary succulents at the end of the class. Don’t have a green thumb? Don’t worry, Sabine will be there to give you some tips so you can confidently plant and look after your succulents in your hand-made earthenware planter.

Bettina offers mindful pottery wheel classes in small groups with no more than 4 students per class, ensuring that each participant receives individual attention and personalized guidance. Building on her background in psychology, her ‘Wheelfulness’ approach goes beyond teaching fundamental skills and incorporates mindfulness to enhance focus and stillness at the spinning wheel.

Besides her passion for pottery, Bettina has been an a professional educator in academia for over 20 years within the fields of cognitive and educational psychology. Her journey with the pottery wheel started as a hobby in 2015 when she discovered that the tactile sensation of clay and the rhythmic movement of the wheel had a soothing effect on her overactive mind. Since then, she has been refining and developing the Wheelfulness approach as a therapeutic modality of working with clay at the pottery wheel. To further her expertise in this area, she is currently pursuing a Certificate in Sensorymotor Art and Clay Field Therapies.
