This was fantastic as always. I really appreciated that Niki went to the trouble of designing a whole second tile to teach us. I particularly appreciated Niki showing us some of her sources of inspiration as we went along.

It was great learning the new tangle patterns, being reminded of familiar ones, and practicing shading to really make those buttons pop!

It was a lovely hour working on a "dreamcatcher" tangle, and I especially appreciated that Niki did a "lunchtime" class in the evening for us.

Loved seeing how we could use the patterns we worked on in the warm-up at the start of the lesson to fill in the outlines of the monstera leaf, gum leaves and gum nuts, and moth in different ways. They ended up looking amazing, and it was indeed quite relaxing.

I found the embossing aspect quite challenging but it was fun to try out something different!

Thanks to Niki as always. I appreciated all the little details and options for things as simple as borders and ornaments in corners and choosing to leave some spaces blank. (And after several days of practicing Henna Drum last year, I can finally draw it! )

Really appreciate having something pleasant and relaxing to be absorbed in for two hours; an excellent break from the stresses of pandemic life.

As always, I appreciate that Niki shares the names of the patterns, what they look like when they’re finished (and different applications and options for details) as well as showing us how to draw them step-by-step.

Knowing that Niki will happily slow down or demonstrate something again if I missed something the first time really takes the pressure off.

This was challenging, but lovely. My individual flowers and my floral tile as a whole definitely improved over the course of the class! I really enjoyed the sunflower.

Very relaxing, and I really liked the variation of using black on white and learning to do highlighting with the white charcoal pencil rather than shading as usual. Indy-Rella might be my new favourite tangle!

It was really good to learn the basics from the beginning, and to hear a bit more about the history of Zentangle. It was also lovely to hang out with far-off friends while making art! Thanks to Niki for facilitating. :)

Great class as always — well-paced, good variety of patterns, all clearly explained.

The supplied materials in the craft box are excellent quality (love the Gelly Roll gold pen , and appreciated the warning about how long the ink takes to dry!), and Niki answered my (many) questions regarding the details of the materials knowledgeably patiently.

I’m amazed by how good my designs look after just two hours! I’m also, once again, amazed at how quickly two hours went by.

My box arrived on Friday (phew!) and it was lovely to be able to use all the different blue fine liners and pencils as instructed. I really appreciate the way Niki explains how to draw each pattern, as well as showing what the process and the finished version look like via her camera.

I got really absorbed in the process; two hours went by like no time at all!

Thanks for letting me join right at the last minute! This was my second ever Zentangle experience and second ever online art class. I enjoyed learning about the history of Zentangle and of some of the patterns. I appreciated the step-by-step instructions and the fact that we got to try out several different patterns in each of the two pieces we made.

It really did make time fly once I was absorbed in tangling — hard to believe two whole hours had gone by at the end of it!

I really enjoyed the class. I’d never done Zentangle before, or taken any kind of art or craft class over Zoom before, but I’m glad I did! I felt welcome and was able to keep up despite my lack of experience and despite not having all the fancy materials. (I signed up a few days before the class and didn’t want to risk my box not arriving in time, so I just made sure I had the right kind of fineliner and the other suggested materials.)

I particularly appreciated Niki’s step-by-step instructions and demonstrations; it was easy to watch and follow what she was doing on her screen. I enjoyed learning about the different patterns and what they would be useful for, and appreciated that Niki wrote out all the names for us — I don’t think I would have been able to spell them correctly if I’d just been going by what I heard!

I think it was good value for money, especially given that we go to take home several candles and tealights that we’d made during the class. I was surprised by how well mine turned out!

I would have appreciated a slightly longer/more in-depth introduction to the chemistry and theoretical background before we started making (e.g. benefits of soy wax over other kinds, specific implications of using pure soy wax), but understandably we also needed enough time for actually making our candles.

Something I would have found helpful is a whiteboard or similar containing large print version of the key info we needed to keep referring back to during the class (the steps in making a candle starting with measuring the diameter of the jar; the amounts in grams of wax to fragrance for different candle sizes).
