What you'll do
Learn to build your very own drawing journal with celebrated Australian artist Claire Ritchie. You will learn fun exercises and techniques to develop and refine their drawing skills and apply these to their very own drawing journal.
The commitment to drawing in a journal each day can be tough but, oh so rewarding. Not only are you building your skills each day, but you are also making time for yourself and taking a moment to stop and clear your mind. You will be walked through a number of exercises to take and continue each day at home.
All ages and skill levels are welcome!
Please note: This class requires at least 5 students to run. In the unlikely event that we don't get this number of students, we'll cancel the class and fully refund you and inform you via email, so please watch your email a few days prior to the class

Colour is Claire Ritchie’s language and she uses it in a visually striking, definite and feel good way. Claire’s artwork draws people in to feel better about the person they are.
Claire designs and makes a selection of artwork, accessories, clothing and homewares made in small batches, brought to life through colourful and bold prints.
All products are designed and made by Claire herself in her Brisbane home studio.
Claire studied Clothing Production and Fashion & Textile Design in her hometown Perth, Western Australia before moving to the east coast in 2013 with her sewing machine and a string of vibrant fabrics in tow. In 2018, she packed up her beloved Melbourne studio and headed north for a sunny change of pace.
Several years of sewing to her own creative beat and always staying true to her values of treating our beautiful environment with care underpins what Claire Ritchie is all about. Claire challenges consumers to shop more carefully, to buy high quality items and treat them well, to slow down the fast fashion movement. She hopes her thoughtfully designed items will inspire people to shop with the same thoughtfulness.

Work-Shop is a creative concept that will broaden your horizons and help you unleash your inner awesome. We provide affordable short courses in life skills and alternative art. We’ve teamed up with Australia’s brightest creative minds to share their knowledge and help teach you a new skill. From 3D printing and stencil art through to music and gardening – life skills and personal development through to cooking doughnuts and mushroom foraging, we offer a broad range of fun and creative short courses to suit our time poor lives. We will inspire you to pick up that pen, paintbrush, hammer or sewing machine and flick the switch that will kickstart a whole new way of life.
Community values lie at the heart of our project. We collaborate with local artists and industry experts to teach classes and utilise local suppliers for any materials needed. We also provide a creative environment for emerging artists to produce and sell work, and meet like minded individuals. Work-Shop will be a space for everyone, with a rotating schedule of art shows, information nights on local issues and a whole range of events and community initiatives.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Sketch Journaling Workshop with Claire Ritchie. Claire was a wonderful facilitator and the workshop was well planned. It didn't feel rushed and we covered all activities. The exercises I learnt from the workshop will help me start my own daily practice.

Such a positive and uplifting experience. The teacher had several exercises that were well planned, simply explained and easy to execute but made you use your brain and body in interesting and fresh ways. Beautiful basic supplies provided to not only complete the exercises but to take home and continue experimenting, excellent value for money. Highly recommend this class for anyone who doesn't think they are arty but wants to accomplish something and start practicing or anyone who is arty but wants to try letting go especially if you are experiencing the dreaded art block.
