Hi my name is Leah Bright and I am a practicing artist and a teacher. For as long as I can remember I have loved to create artworks. I majored in Sculpture at University, creating large scale works and today my focus is using the combination of ceramics, drawing and painting. Ceramics is a process that completely grounds me. I love to discover it nuances, textures and ability to take on integral forms and structures.

I have a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts and a Dip Ed in Teaching. I have been practicing as an artist for 20 years and have been teaching in a Secondary School for 17 years. After majoring in sculpture at University, I discovered the love for how things are structured and formed.

The concept of Slow Life Workshops has grown from a desire to reconnect with the quiet self, whilst creating art in a magical setting. All workshops are held in inspirational environments. These locations are chosen for their beauty and their ability to transcend people on their personal journey.

Teaching art is a wonderful opportunity to share knowledge about skills and processes and to help facilitate individual’s to explore their inner artist. My teaching style is energetic and enthusiastic where students are encouraged to let themselves evolve.

Wow! Incredible experience with Leah. Such a humble, personable, kind woman with excellent teaching skills. She was adored by everyone at our event and I can’t fault her on the amazing experience she’s left us with. Would recommend a mobile ceramics workshops by Leah, for any team building/girls lunch activity/baby shower/hens.
You provide the table/seating and Leah brings the rest! So affordable, fun and relaxing.
Thank you Leah!

We had a great time with Leah! She came out to our house and bought everything with her that we needed. Leah showed us clearly how to use the clay to make something that was functional, but also allowed our creativity to flow. We also loved that we were able to choose a colour and for our work to be kilned too. Most of us were able to make at 2-3 items each. Well worth the price of the lesson :)

Leah was super attentive and made sure I was getting the techniques as good as possible. She was very hands on and demonstrated all the required techniques to build 3 items that will hopefully make a beautiful gift! Thanks Leah for the beautiful spread of food and refreshing beverages!

Leah was a fantastic teacher. One of us was an experienced potter and the other had never worked with clay. She found the right balance for each of us. Amazed we managed to complete the initial makings (part one) of the workshop.

Ceramic Workshop with Teacher Leah was so enjoyable. I had so much fun. I'm looking forward to seeing the final outcome of the pieces I created. I'm also looking forward to booking more/different classes this year, if all is approved by NDIS. Thank you Leah :)

This class was a gift and what a lovely morning. Everything was set up and Leah was so well prepared and helpful. She directed and assisted when asked without taking over and everyone seemed delighted with the final product. Morning tea was a gorgeous spread of cheeses and seasonal fruit with delightful fruit tea or juices. I would love to give a Classbento to my sister. She’d love it. I am ready to try a painting or drawing class Great day!

Found it a bit hurried the last half hour. People did not arrive on time.
I found 2-1/2 hrs a bit short

This was a great introduction into ceramics. The teacher was able to demonstrate and explain some basics that enabled the whole class to creat a multitude of different designs of vases, bowls, and cups. You work at your own pace with assistance as required, it was a really enjoyable few hours.
