5.0 (43)For us, studiotroika is all about accessing and enjoying screenprint. We have created this beautifully practical screenprint space where people can join us in discovering the joy of screenprint.
The founders of studiotroika are Jo Sloggett and Trish Foxworthy. Jo and Trish have been screenprinting together in Melbourne, as Troika Design, for the last 13 years.
Jo's background is in Fine Art, Interior Design and Visual Arts while Trish's background is in Fashion Design and Screenprint Design. We were part of the design collective at Olive Grove Studios in Brunswick for 10 years, during which time we screenprinted out of our studio in Preston.
Our label, Troika Design created a handmade and handprinted range of womenswear and homewares sold through a range of shops promoting independent designers in Melbourne, including Olive Grove Studios, Inspirasia, Northern Thread, Offshoot, Finki, Berserk, and The Cat's Meow.
Jo and Trish are also working towards creating Melbourne's own open access Screenprint studio The People's Print Studio Ltd, a not for profit social enterprise.
Studiotroika is the testing ground where we begin this journey.

Trish & Jo were awesome teachers. Such patience with kids. They are great in what they do. Provided easy to understand explanation on screen printing process and hands on too. Very fun and educational experience. All kids were impressed and had a wonderful time. Highly recommend.

Just wanted to say a HUGH thank you to Trish from Studiotroika for being so lovely and accommodating today. The venue was large and roomy and we had lots different screens to choose from and we were able to buy extra Tote bags and Tea towels to print on which I’ll give as gifts. Will definitely go back to do the other classes offered, it was so much fun and Trish was sooo helpful and knowledgeable in all things Screen Printing. Had a fantastic day, great value and highly recommend this venue. Trish also provided a beautiful plunger coffee and bikies

Trish was fantastic. I brought my 10 year old nephew to her screen printing class as his birthday present.
The class felt personalized, Trish demonstrated the techniques openly and clearly. She had wonderful patience and provided constructive tips and tricks, and taught us the pertinent terms used in screen printing.
I was so thrilled, when on the drive home, my nephew said to me, “thank you for today, I had a really fun time. And I love everything I’m bringing home.”

Both my daughter (13) and son (11) thoroughly enjoyed their screen printing class with Trish. It was a new experience for both of my kids and Trish was very patient and encouraging. There was a good range of screen designs to choose from and Trish gave the kids time to practise different colour techniques on calico before deciding on their final prints. We were able to bring our own T-shirts/bags to print on and were also provided with an additional bag as part of the course. Definitely an activity all kids would enjoy.

Trish was very helpful and encouraging. She appreciated and provided necessary inputs to support my imperfection of creating the art specially with stencils. Enjoyed tea and snacks to give a boost to our art work I will recommend to have a picture / art in your mind which simple enough for stencils before screen painting. Learnt basics about screen painting. Time management was a bit tricky but we managed well as a team.

We had an excellent time. My children and I each printed several items of clothing as well as a stack of calico pieces given to us as part of the course. The teachers were friendly and encouraging and didn't mind that we made an enormous pile of pieces.
This course was good fun and didn't need much skill to get a good result, so it was very satisfying for the children. I would recommend this as a good value thing to do that everyone can enjoy. We look forward to doing more screen printing in future.
