Come along to make your own beautiful petal artwork. We'll guide you through the process, starting with applying the background colour followed by an introduction to the texture and achieving the beautiful petal shapes.
We'll have lots of examples for you to look at for some inspo!

This is an open-ended creative session where you'll be shown the techniques in our introduction. After some practicing, you're free to apply the techniques as you wish, letting your creativity flow to create your own unique artwork.
At the end of the class, take home your textured masterpiece and memories of this fun and social experience!
Our story began in 2018 in a small Redfern studio. With only one desk and one sewing machine, our first class was published and we haven't looked back. Our passion for the arts coupled with bringing people together, brought our vision of launching a creative hub to life.
In our modern world, everything moves quickly, we have adapted to a fast-paced environment and sometimes it can be hard to slow ourselves down. Sydney Creative is a place for people to relax, regroup and find a creative outlet that will hopefully aid in bringing people a sense of achievement, fulfilment and joy.
Today, our classes run from our own venue in Redfern. We run lots of different creative classes from Sewing to Jewellery, painting and lots more, we love following the trends and developing new classes for our customers to enjoy.

The instructor was very friendly and proactive. It’s a fair balance of instructions & creativity so every artwork was unique!
The location was convenient and easy to access. The classroom was also very neat and had a lovely pink wall which was great for pictures.

Danni was a dream and is an asset to the team at Sydney Creative - she was not only informative and able to provide us with the descriptions we needed at the various levels we were all at, but she was wonderfully conversational, which created a lovely atmosphere while we were hard at work trying to get our pieces together.

I absolutely loved this class. The atmosphere was lovely and the teacher was welcoming especially since I haven’t done art since high school. The teacher gave great ideas on the colour palette I was after and helped me get the right technique for the textured paint.

I enjoyed the class. I do think with the medium used, which was not a nice gritty paste more like marshmallow, became too soft once acrylic paint was added making it harder to get a nice form. I wish I’d realized why I got nice shapes with the plain medium and couldn’t get the same once colour was added. Just my thought on the medium used. The class was fun. The teacher Dani was lovely.

This was such a great experience! Danii (spelling?) was incredibly patient and helpful. It was the perfect amount of time - went quickly but didn’t feel too rushed. Plenty of room to do your own thing if you have an artistic flair, or plenty of examples and guidance if you’re less sure. Overall, really loved it and would definitely recommend!

Our instructor was great. She was very bubbly and happy to explain techniques a few times for people to get a grasp of it.
All the materials provided were great.
The location was a close distance from the station but not very good for driving. I would prefer location were driving/parking is possible. Driving would have taken us 40 minutes to get home while with public transport took us 2 hours and it was quite difficult considering that we were carrying our artworks with us.

Great class, helpful teacher, everything you needed to complete the artwork. The rolling of the petals was more challenging than I thought it would be
A fun experience with an easy to find location. Dani was very welcoming and encouraged everyone to give it a go without the pressure of producing a masterpiece.
This was a great experience to do with a friend! It was so close to RaRa Ramen where we had dinner before going in to paint. Everything we needed was provided and the instructor was encouraging and very helpful! 10/10 would recommend!

Took my mum for her birthday and we both had a ball! The teacher was helpful and relaxed. The technique was simple and skillful - heaps of room to practice and get better over the session! Pretty sure we'll be going back. Not sure if for this or one of the other great looking classes!

Our teacher Dani was amazing! She showed us what to do and encouraged us to be creative. The venue is easy to get to with less than a 10 minute walk from Redfern station. We were provided with all the required materials to make our own textured painting. It was definitely a good experience and would highly recommend if you haven’t done it before. Tea, coffee, water and snacks were provided. You can take your artwork home after the class ends or you can pick it up as it takes 7 days to dry.
Great way to spend time with friends while learning the art of textured painting. Danni was informative and helpful and explained new elements well. Time for practice before creating a work of art. Comfortable facilities and a location easy to get to, a fun experience.
I really enjoyed this class. The teachers were lovely, friendly and knew the content well but taught it with simplicity so everyone could follow. The space was smallish but inviting and the owner has worked smarter not harder in making the space comfortable for students. The place was easy to find. Great value for money and I’m really happy with how my painting turned out.
If offered I would have bought supplies from the facilitators e.g a take home kit with beginner supplies so that I could continue practicing the skills I’d learnt.

A great class, lovely teacher, ample space and good instructions. Loved learning how to do the backgrounds too. I would definitely recommend, however I do wish the teacher had showed us some samples of what could be typically achieved in the time frame we had as a lot of the samples around were done over multiple classes, which she mentioned at the end and that was a bit disappointing as I don't think our class had a realistic understanding of what could be completed. That said it was great and I would do it again happily, it was a wonderful class.

It was a great class, very fun and had such a good laugh with my girlfriends, we were throwing a hen's party. The space was extremely small and that would be my only negative point. Also, I got late because of my flight from Melbourne, and I got 30 minutes late, I would expect a bit of guidance which it wasn't provided so this was a bit disappointed, and me and my friend were very lost.

It was a fun course. Definitely enjoyed it. I would however like the option for smaller classes as it was crowded and noisy in the small space. But I’m definitely excited to use these skills to create more masterpieces.

I loved the class! It was great that all the materials were provided and there was a nice little tea station with some snacks as well. The space was nice and light as well. Got to take the canvas home to enjoy too. Overall, learnt a lot, got to take something home and enjoyed it!

Bought this as a gift for my friend and we loved it! The class was so laidback but our teacher was also informative and attentive if we needed any help. Would highly recommend this to anyone, bonus is you get to bring your own wine too! :)

It’s was a really amazing experience, I have enjoyed every minute in the class. The teacher very talented and explains the intersections very easily. I really recommend the class
It was nice to do something new on a rainy day. Overall it was OK. It didn’t blow my mind. We got very few instructions, some more guidance would be better, e.g. how to blend colors and how to make brush strokes for the background, or what difference does it make to put small or large amount of the paste on the palette knife, or show us real time examples of different techniques, how to hold the knife on the canvas…. Also the canvas was quite too small.

We're sorry to hear the class didn't blow your mind, we always strive to offer the best class experience for all of our customers. As this session is an open-ended painting class, after our demonstrations, guidance and help is given to each individual as we walk around. We'd love to offer bigger canvases however the 12" x 16" size is the largest we're able to fit on the tables given everyone also needs a mixing board and choice of colours.

Instructions were clear. We were given the freedom to be expressive and creative and our choice of colours. There were plenty of samples to refer to. I love this class. The ambience was good and with good background music. Definitely a way to destress.
