I joined the class because collaging was something I had always wanted to explore, but I never really knew where to start. And thanks to this workshop, I finally found inspiration and trust my own creativity!! :)
Max, the teacher, was absolutely amazing - he was incredibly patient and calm, always encouraging me while still allowing my creative ideas to flow naturally. He was always available for feedback and more technical tips whenever I needed it, but there was never any pressure or strict rules. It felt like being guided to express my creativity in my own way, which I loved. :)
The atmosphere was so peaceful, the playlist was perfect, and the snacks were wholesome.
What I loved most was the shop itself as it's a beautiful explosion of colour. I was constantly inspired by the variety of artwork displayed on the walls. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone curious about collage or looking for a creative and welcoming experience! :)

We had a lovely time at the collage workshop and although not being terribly 'arty', with Max's gentle suggestions I came away with a piece that totally blew me away.

We had a great time during our workshop with That paper joint. Super friendly, and they make you feel comfortable straight away. It was great trying something new and we didn’t feel any pressure, just the fun of creating something. Best part was we forgot about our phones and all! Would definitely do it again.

My mother and I came to this workshopto celebrate her 80th birthday together and it was absolutely fabulous. Mum enjoyed herself thoroughly was treated particularly kindly and is key to go back and do more in the self guided sessions in the near future The resources and equipment supplied were excellent and plentiful and both Zoe and Max were very generous with their encouragement and enthusiasm as well as supplies, encouraging us to make several collages and to take anything that we would like from the books and paper, to continue making collages at home. Lovely refreshments supplied as well! Even as an experienced artist, it was wonderful to learn from and be inspired by others… we would both highly recommend this workshop to anybody, regardless of your experience or confidence level

I booked a private workshop for seven friends to celebrate my birthday, and it was such a fun experience! The team at That Paper Joint were incredibly accommodating, welcoming, and friendly from start to finish. The workshop flew by because we were all having such a great time. Some of my friends were unsure how they would create a collage, but with the guidance and encouragement of the wonderful staff, they all surprised themselves with what they made. I highly recommend this workshop to anyone, whether you’re completely new to collaging or an experienced junk journaler. It was a fantastic way to spend time with friends and celebrate a special occasion. We all left feeling inspired and proud of our creations!

I did a cut and paste class with my best friend as we both wanted to get into a new craft. The session was great. The vibes in the studio were relaxed and fun, with good snacks and music. Max did a great job guiding the session in a way that balanced listening/learning with exploring and getting lost in the art. Max was also really good at making suggestions and giving us a different perspective on our work without being overbearing. Getting to see everyone's work on the projector at the end helped make it feel like we'd achieved something cool. We're already planning on going back for another session. Would highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to try something fun, low-key and super creative.

I had the pleasure of attending a Cut and Paste Collage class with a friend. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted warmly and I was taken by how beautiful and whimsical the space is. Instruction during the class was really clear without creating too much structure and I had a great time getting lost in the process of creating collage. I particularly enjoyed the opportunities to both create a physical hard-copy but also experiment with arranging and scanning collages.

Max and Zoe from The Paper Joint know how to host a great time, whether it’s in their studio or at the pub. They demonstrate that even with basic tools and old books magazines junk mail or anything paper-like you can express your creativity and create a unique piece of art.
seeing everyone’s creations at the end on the projector is always the most inspiring and exciting part.

What a fabulous, fun and creative way to spend a Friday evening! 'That Paper Joint' is a magical location full of artistic inspiration and a great space just to let yourself play with paper. My adult son and I decided to do this during a trip to Melbourne and I'm so glad we did, definitely a highlight of our time here with great souvenirs that won't take up space in a suitcase! The facilitation/tutoring was pitched at the perfect level and the delicious snacks were an added bonus. Thank you so much!
