Learn the art of traditional Turkish mosaic making in this 2.5-hour class, where you will learn the techniques of a 500-year ancient craft and practice assembling Islamic geometric patterns as well as historic techniques for laying the tiles (tesserae). Using your selected geometric template, you will be guided to create and take home your very own traditional Turkish mosaic!

All of our workshops and events are complemented with a sumptuous Turkish tea service, delectable treats and homemade Turkish shortbread cookies.

Our workshops are customisable to meet the interests and needs of your group. We offer personalised workshops perfect for private functions, welfare groups and corporate packages. Gift vouchers are also available and are the perfect gift solution for family and friends. Classes are held every day of the weekend, every week!

So come along, bring a friend or group and join us for a fun-filled workshop and take home your creative masterpiece! With our expertise and guidance, we can help you unleash your inner creativity and discover your full artistic capabilities.

There are four different options you can choose from for your workshop.
- Mosaic candle holder ($69 total)
- Mosaic table lamp ($89 total)
- Mosaic swan lamp ($109 total)
- Mosaic aladdin lamp ($129 total)

The pink lamp in the listing pictures is an example of the Mosaic swan lamp.

To choose the mosaic candle holder option, choose your preferred date and book without selecting any of the add-on options.

If you want to make one of the lamp mosaics instead, choose your preferred booking date and then select your preferred lamp option in the “add-on” section. This means you’ll make whichever lamp option you choose instead of the candle holder.

Please allow up to 7 days for the grout/plastering and drying process. You may pick your lamp in person at our studio during our workshop hours, or we may post it to you for $20.

I loved the class. Exceeded my expectations! The place was gorgeous, full of inspiration as they had lamps for sale too. You get enough time and materials to create your piece. Also, the teacher was nice and took the time to go to each person to explain the process. The only thing that I will recommend is to do an introduction to the class for everyone and then go person by person, as at the beginning I was not sure what was happening.

Great class with a great teache. Very well run and lots of fun. Thank you

Judith Townsend • Oct 2020

The location store was full of beautiful items and this gave me plenty of ideas as to the look I might like for my own mosaic. The teacher was very attentive, with clear instructions and ready support. But she did not hover over me all the time which allowed me time and space to proceed slowly. I would thoroughly recommend this class to anyone.

Very fun, did this with my mum and sister and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The man and woman hosting this were very lovely and served tea and biscuits. The studio has a lot of lamps for sale so it’s easy to find inspiration.
You can take home the lamp glass to plaster it yourself or have them do it for you to pick up the next week. We look forward to collecting ours!

Awesome experience, great teacher. He wasn't in your face, showed you what to do clearly then let you explore on your own but was there quickly if you needed help.

It was a very good experience, the teacher was nice and helpful. She served us Turkish tea and some cookies during the class. The whole venue was very covid safe with social distancing.

Matt Hillocks • Oct 2020

The class is run well, with both instructors giving great feedback during the pattern making/design part.

Once you've picked out a design or two that you like, you glue it all to the glass and start making your lamp or candle holder. The instructors give clear info regarding the phases.

One thing worth noting is that at the end of the class you do have the option to have the instructors do the last stage, grouting the piece which will finish it and fill any cracks and crevices, which is an extra $10/ea or you can take it home and they'll give you the gear.

Highly recommend this course, my partner and I both thoroughly enjoyed it

The experience at the Mosaic art studio was exceptional; from the beautiful hand cut tiles and beads, to the supportive and positive guidance of the teachers (who were always there to answer questions & give encouragement). The studio itself was beautiful and the atmosphere created by the owners with;
*authentic Turkish lamps, bowls, statues scattered around the room
* Traditional Turkish and calming popular music in the background
* Turkish tea and a sweet treat provided during your design and making
All this also allowed for a working space for everyone to relax, be creative, chat and enjoy the experience!

I highly recommend this workshop for anyone who wants to give a gift to themselves or friends or to just try something new and mindfulyou will not be disappointed!

This is my second time doing the class, it's such a lovely way to spend time, and you get a beautiful lamp in the end! The instructor is very generous and I can't thank her enough

Luba Powditch • Aug 2020

Class was a good size and my friends and I all completed swan lamps. We thought there should have been an intro by the teacher to the whole class to go thru what the format of the session would entail rather than going to each table to explain. We luved the Turkish tea but would have luved to be able to have bottomless cups with a couple more sweets. There was a huge variety of glass mosaics which was wonderful. Can't wait to visit again at the new premises and complete one of the other styles was definitely a highlight of our weekend.
