Great workshops, great location and absolutely gorgeous Florist. The Teacher was knowledgeable, engaging and friendly. Great way to spend the day with family and friends.
We had a fantastic time learning all about succulants and terrariums! Chris is an excellent instructor and provided an awesome experience. Would 100% reccomend and will definitely rebook.
The venue was a beautiful florist shop, I love flowers. The teacher was good, enthusiastic, humorous and able to teach. The class was small so we all got the attention we needed. There was no occasion other than that I had wanted to learn something of bonsai and so did my friend. There was a cake sale outside which added to the happy atmosphere, people brought in various things to share.My peppermint tea which I was offered immediately we got there, was delicious. Tools that were provided were good. It was a very happy experience
A delightful time spent creating a Bonsai. Chris the teacher was very informative and easy going, with all the practical aspects of creating a beautiful living piece of art.Highly recommended for one and all.
Chris was wonderful and very knowledgeable. The children asked countless questions, and Chris answered each one with patience. The venue, located at the back of the florist, was peaceful and serene. We all loved the final terrariums we made. Highly recommend!
I took my friend to a floral arrangement workshop at Merchant and Green for her belated 30th birthday over the weekend, and it was such a great experience! We both love flowers, especially Australian natives, so this was the perfect activity. Our instructor was super friendly and knowledgeable, making it a fun and relaxed session for our small group of 3. We left with some useful tips on how to care for and arrange flowers in various ways, and each of us got to take home a beautiful bouquet. It was definitely worth it, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys flowers!
I was at a place where after much stress and change, I needed to do something both creative and nature like and this was perfect! It was a lesson in art, form, nature, mindfulness and so much more in a beautiful florist shop!Teacher Chris is superb, so patient and so full of knowledge and practical skills. I am ready to have Bonsai making be part of my life;)(I cant wait to do more classes) Thank you
Had a lovely lesson with Chris. It was exactly what I wanted which was an introduction to the ideas behind bonsai and the hands on experience of making one. A lovely way to spend a few hours.
This was such a great class! Chris was warm and so knowledgable about all of my random questions. He made this so fun and I feel much more confident with the bouquet making process now!
We had a ton of fun at this class, and the best part is that we left with an amazing terrarium that we made to take home. It's a couple months on, and they are absolutely thriving. Thank you for a fun and engaging class!

The workshop was fantastic, Orla was lovely and very knowledgeable and the flowers provided were beautiful. When I left with the bouquet we made, someone on the street complimented it and asked me where I got it from! Thanks Orla!
Such an awesome class! Chris has so much knowledge and he made it interesting and fun. His shop is beautiful, the flowers spectacular and we both went home with creations that we were proud of.
We did the succulent terrarium class and it was such a fun and relaxing experience, the venue and service was lovely and building the terrarium was so much fun, we learnt a lot about the process and how to apply these to any future terrariums as well! Would definitely recommend
This terrarium class was a pleasure to take part in. This was arranged to mark my partner's birthday and we were lucky to have a private session guided by the humorous and patient, Chris at Merchant & Green in Redfern. He's passionate about the craft and walked us through building and taking care of our terraria. We had loads of different plants, mosses, rocks and other vegetation to use constructing our micro forests! Highly recommended
This workshop was fantastic. The staff at Merchany and Green were all fantastic, especially Chris the instructor who really knows his stuff. Highly recommended for anyone interested in Bonsai.
Took my boyfriend to a bonsai making class and it was epic!! A therapeutic and informative session with fun chats, this class was everything we were hoping for and more! Can’t wait to book in another class with Merchant and Green.
Our team had an incredible afternoon with Chris and team at Merchant & Green. Great location, super lovely hosts that provided us coffee/tea and lots of chit chat and knowledge sharing about plants and ecosystems as we created our very own terrariums. We were a work group of 7, was very relaxing and fun to do. The hot topic of conversation the next day was how our ecosystem was going and what our "moisture levels" were on the glass. Absolutely recommend for work team day, and with family and friends.
Had a great time at this class. The teachers was great, not too serious but really knowledgeable and helpful. And we were super happy with the terrariums we created and took home.Perfect winter activity

My partner got this for me for my birthday. It was such a delightful class. Chris was so kind, patient and lovely. The space was so beautiful and smelt amazing. The class was peaceful and great mindfulness, with some laughs along the way. I will definitely be back to do Chris other classes :D
I received a voucher for my birthday, to do a native flower arrangement bouquet. I came with my 4 years old daughter, so we could enjoy some quality time together in a special and creative way :)The boutique shop is very pleasant, well decorated and maintained, and Chris, the host, is amazing! He is very friendly, knowledgeable and passionated about what he does. He told us all about the australian flowers and foliage we will be using, along with some different ways to arrange a bouquet (central, frontal, circular, groups, shapes, colours, heights, dynamics, pinched and ruffled wrapping, etc...). He always invited my daughter to try all the steps, and took several pictures of us, creating beautiful memories for our family.We ended up making 4 arrangements in total: one big bouquet, a medium one, and small ones that my daughter did herself. So the experience was definitely worth the money :)I really enjoyed this workshop. I learnt a lot, and I feel more confident about creating a flower arrangement myself now. Thanks a lot Chris and thank you, hubby, for that great gift ;)
Fun and functional class with a fabulous terrarium to go away with. How did we end up here? I bought my friend a terrarium for her birthday and left it on the light rail!!! So she suggested we go and make our own to make up for that silly mistake. I love plants and it was great to learn some new things about them. I’ll definitely be doing some more classes at Merchant & Green (and with ClassBento)
I booked the class with a birthday voucher from a friend and we went to the class not knowing what to expect. Chris was very welcoming and explained the process all the way through with the result being a beautiful terrarium to take home each. We were impressed with the vast range of materials provided and the value for money. We will be booking in for the bonsai class in the near future. So much fun Thanks Chris, Leonie and I had an awesome time.
My daughter bought me a voucher to do an introductory bonsai class, as I’ve always wanted to learn bonsai. The venue where I attended the class was homely and pleasant in a lovely part of Redfern. Chris, my teacher was very interested in getting to know you, he was very informative and encouraging, the class was a lot of fun. I would like to keep utilising the skills that I learnt and improve on them. I really love the bonsai that I made.
A really fun class in a beautiful environment, the presenter is fabulous, fun and personable. The end product is easily achieved with Chris tuition and looks fabulous on my table. I would highly recommend this class and particularly the location.
I booked the Bonsai class for my husband’s birthday and it was such a great way to spend an afternoon. Chris, the instructor was amazing and made the experience delightful. Would definitely recommend this class as not only was it a fun experience, but you get to take away your own bonsai tree to care for and continue the fun at home!
