This was a really fun class with lots of helpful insight into the best ways to start out, and make the best of calligraphy. I'd never done calligraphy before but through the various warm up exercise and lettering, I kind of got the hang of it. The great thing is that I can continue to practice, using the specific methods shown instead of just finding my way and potentially holding the pen incorrectly. I appreciate the guides for materials too.

Bought 2x classes for my dad to attend the modern calligraphy class with my mum in the city. My online communication with the teacher Nikki was very prompt and made purchasing and booking the classes and smooth. Instructions to find the venue were very clear.
My parents attended the class on Sunday and said they had a good time. They did comment that they were the oldest attendants and everyone was much younger than them, but that the teachers were very welcoming and they learned a lot.

What a fabulous way to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday! At the start, Nikki briefly spoke about the pen and suppliers but I loved how we got to jump straight into it as I learn so much better by actually doing rather than sitting through lengthy instructions.
Nikki gave you space to work out the pen and get comfortable with it, but was also right there to offer guidance and correct your technique when needed.
The kit I got to take home included all the information mentioned during the workshop plus plenty of additional worksheets, so I can continue practicing calligraphy at home!
Nikki made sure the advice provided suited what you wanted to get out of the workshop such as if you wanted to start a calligraphy biz or do your own wedding stationery.
I’d definitely recommend this workshop with Nikki if you’re thinking about getting into calligraphy!

Thanks Nikki for a wonderful session. 3 hours flew by and within that time, I learnt the fundamentals tl take away with me to practice my newly acquired skill. It's the perfect personal touch I've always wanted to add to my home made goods I made for fam and friends.
Nikki observed me and provided tips on getting the best style strokes.
Materials were provided so it was handy to get started on practising straight away and Nikki provided plenty of into on where to get supplies, recommendations and how to care my new items. The personalised agate was a lovely touch and to remember this occasion.

Nikki was a lovely and patient teacher and the small size of the intermediate workshop was perfect for getting individual feedback and instruction. So happy to have found this class, which was catered to those who already have some previous experience with pointed pen calligraphy.
