Are you a vegan who has been craving cheese? Perhaps you just want to incorporate more plant-based foods into your diet? With Elisabeth from Permaculture Produce, you can learn how to make vegan cheese right here in Queensland!

In this beginner-friendly class, you will learn how to craft delicious, vegan cheese and cultured non-dairy products like Havarti and sour cream.

Fermentation is an ancient practice, used to preserve and enrich your food. This workshop aims to bring the knowledge of this craft to all aspiring DIY plant-based cheesemakers, with reliable guidance to what works and what does not.

What we'll be making:

  • Cheddar.
  • Brie.
  • Havarti.
  • Vegan butter and cultured buttermilk.
  • Sour cream.
  • Cheese spread and coco-yogurt.

The course will be a mixture of demonstration and hands-on cooking in small groups, with tips, talking and tasting. You will receive a booklet with all the recipes so that you can get started and make vegan cheeses at home!

Enjoyable and informative. The presenter knows her stuff. This is. It a fully hands on workshop and you won’t take home samples, but you will get to try them in the breaks. Participants take turns making each cheese as part of the demonstration.
