I am an Illustrator, painter, textile artist and designer. I have worked as a Costumer for theatre, film, opera and ballet. I also make lampshades, dresses, espadrille shoes, kimonos, cushions, bags and tassels. I dye my own textiles with natural dyes. I am a freelance surface pattern designer creating patterns for fabric to be printed both digitally and screenprinted.
This was a private class in the teacher's fascinating bijoux home studio. I understand Gin travels to your place for classes of 2 or more.
Gin was a communicative and knowledgeable instructor. Her knowledge spans a vast range of art and craft skills. The lampshade making class was concise and thorough. I have left with the skill to replicate more lampshades at a later date and lots of inspiration for more.
I just love my lampshade. It's such a pretty, quirky improvement for the base. What an immensely valuable skill to have learned and Gin couldn't have been lovelier.
I had such a wonderful time, loved this workshop! Virginia is super welcoming, very informative, and was happy to share little tips and tricks, going above and beyond, it was a very inspiring experience. She is super talented in all of her creative pursuits, I would highly recommend any of her classes. I am really happy with my lampshade, that we made, don't hesitate if this workshop is of interest! Thanks for a great day :)
I really enjoyed this class and thrilled with the outcome. Virginia is wonderfully creative and a great teacher. I came home with a lampshade that is different from anything I could find in the shops and clear notes giving me the confidence to attempt more lampshades on my own. Would thoroughly recommend this class.
The best experience with a true artisan. Virginia is incredibly talented and teaches in a way that is supportive, showing you little tricks and details to make the perfect lampshade. An absolutely lovely person, warm and engaging the best day! I’d recommend this course to anyone, no matter your skill levels. Highly recommended.
