So glad I booked in - Shirley is a great teacher who is welcoming, patient and such an amazing artist. You get the perfect amount of material to use so there are no extra hidden fees, can add as many gemstones as you want and there's every colour of the rainbow to choose from. The Fleurieu Arthouse was a great venue especially considering that you can have something to eat and drink at the pub nextdoyor while you wait for your rings to be fired. It's hard to find quality rings at this price point so considering you get professional expertise, a day of entertainment and take home a fully personalised ring the same day makes it incredible value for money. I would book in again & recommend it highly

Shirley was incredibly talented at giving clear instructions with the right balance of background context, while also massaging the space to encourage creativity, experimentation and participants to embrace the perfect imperfectness of handcrafted art. We felt safe to make mistakes, which can be a hard environment to cultivate within a short workshop!
Shirley was also extremely generous with sharing her wisdom and experiences as a multidisciplinary artist. My fiancée walked away feeling very excited and inspired to learn more about jewellery making—something she’s been wanting to dive into for a long time now, but where do you start?! Shirley Wu, that’s where.
We learned how to keep our silver clay the right consistency throughout the different stages of making, how to safely embed different cuts and sizes of stones (mostly cubic zirconia), how to troubleshoot common problems, and our creations were fired and ready for collection the same day!
Highly recommend attending one of Shirley's workshops, giving her socials a follow, and perusing her creations.

This was a fantastic workshop with Shirley, run in collaboration with Jurlique on their herb farm. Our Jurlique guide Fay showed us around the gardens and spoke about the plants and their uses in Jurlique's natural skincare range. Shirley expertly advised us on the best botanicals to choose for our jewelry making and then patiently demonstrated and guided us through making our own unique pieces. For parking, there is time in better parts of the class to move your car if need be, and also good to know is you need to return 3-4 hours later for pick up of your ring after it has been fired and polished.
