I took my daughter along to the Wheel Throwing Pottery Class and we had such a great morning! Our teacher Juliet was very thorough and showed us all the relevant techniques for getting a basic bowl/vessel made on the wheel. The instructor was amazing, she was patient and encouraging.
Approx 30mins is taken up during instructions leaving you less time for your initial pottery making. This session only allows for one pottery to be fired any extras will cost $10 a piece. For the amount paid for this session, weird that was asked to clean up everything.
Overall, easily an enjoyable activity, Hope they increase the time especially for the new learners.

My husband, son and I, thoroughly enjoyed our wheel throwing workshop Sunday the 10/3. Considering it was a 39deg day, the room was set up with fans, iced water to keep us cool. Very thoughtful!

Had such a fun afternoon painting our little vases. My friend and I booked this class for something different to do and were not disappointed. BYO snacks and drinks is a great idea and we were both happy with our final pieces. My only feedback would be that we weren't given much guidance from the teacher - just a quick overview on what to do then left on our own but as it's only painting, everything was probably covered off in that overview anyway.

Her teaching felt like I was getting all the knowledge from her extensive experience distilled and communicated in an understandable way.

There were options to choose a colour for the finished pieces and you were able to create a few pieces too.

I don’t think this can be marketed as a class because there was actually no teaching bar the 5-10 minutes the organiser took to run through housekeeping including not to waste their paint. The rest of the 2 hours were left to the participants to paint their own pieces. Colour palette was also rather limited with bottles not labelled correctly. If this continues to be marketed as a class and charge fees then there should be more teaching and step by step guidance as the participants go along. Example to make sure everyone is on track in preparing the ceramic by water coating, tips on base colouring including what shades to use and avoid; design tips, colouring tips especially if shading is intended or dark vibrant colours are intended and multiple coats may be required etc. The person running the course was also rather abrupt such as not asking politely for the participants to move when arranging seats and not being organised and clear enough at the start to arrange people into seats if there were specific requirements. There’s also no facility or space to leave jackets and bags while painting and no clear instruction to not bring any of these given there is no space to store them.

My sibling and I attended this class together and had a lovely time. Our teacher, Emma, did a fantastic job of showing us the ropes before we began and was encouraging and helpful throughout the session. All materials provided, and loved that we could all choose from a range of different vessels etc. to paint. It was a relaxing and mindful experience, though I did rush at the end (I was painting the entirety of a bowl and wanted to ensure there were enough coats of paint on every section). And they happened to be playing what felt like my entire iTunes library during my high school years (indie music of the 2000-2010 era) - a pleasant throwback!

This is a very hands-off session in terms of instruction. I'm not sure what instruction you might need, but you essentially choose an unpainted ceramic piece, get shown the paints and then off you go for 2 hours. The venue is good but be prepared to sit on a high stool, which may not be for everyone. I think it is best suited to a social outing, rather than a 'learning and making one' - bring a friend or two and a bottle to share.

I enjoyed this workshop but I suspect my expectations were a bit high! I did find the throwing quite a bit harder than I expected and got a bit frustrated when I wasn't really able to make anything that felt "good enough". That says a lot more about me than the class though! Amber was a great teacher and very helpful, and all the tools and materials were great. The venue is a lovely space - very welcoming and comfortable. I do recommend it - probably best to approach is a bit of fun, come with a friend or two and bring a drink to share.

Really great experience. We needed to change our booking at the last minute and the team were extremely helpful. The actual day was brilliant: relaxed and fun - the two hours flew by and could easily have spent another 2 hours. Great for a relaxing weekend idea, ideal for de-stressing and grounding.

Great fun! The teacher was really nice and happy to answer any questions. Good for beginners and experts because you can set your own challenge/design. Workshop could maybe be half an hour longer because some of us were rushing to finish. Can’t wait to see what it looks like glazed & finished!

The venue was lovely, an open space with good airflow and a nice atmosphere. The teacher was great, very helpful and you could ask any questions you wanted. The experience was really nice. It was lovely to be able to spend two hours painting. The choice of ceramic was wide too. You could choose a mug, a bowl, a vase, a plate, and all manner of other cool creations. My mum, sister and I really enjoyed this class and are looking forward to seeing how our pieces turn out.

Went to this class as it was recommended by a friend and I have never done pottery before. We were walked through everything and could grab extra assistance if needed. I thoroughly enjoyed the class and the teacher was wonderful. Considering all the behind the scenes work to prepare and then fire/glaze/finish, the class price is also very good.

Amber was an awesome instructor. Very clear with instructions and kept everyone organised. Lots of fun and once we grasped the idea of what we were doing, we were able to do our thing. Everything you need is provided. We did it as a family group which was great but could see it as a great team building activity or fun activity for friends. We got to select an item to paint and Emma explained the process and different paint techniques to get different effects.

The environment was very inviting and relaxing. We had Emma as the facilitator who was very informative and helpful answering questions about techniques and colour palettes. We did this activity as a team building exercise and will look to definitely come back with a friend or my partner.

I recently had the pleasure of taking a wheel throwing class, and I can't say enough about the fantastic experience I had. From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home.

The instructor was not only knowledgeable but also patient and encouraging, which was a huge relief as a beginner. They guided us through the intricate process of wheel throwing with ease, and their passion for the art was truly inspiring.

The class itself was so much fun, and I learned more than I ever expected. The hands-on experience was both relaxing and invigorating. I left the class with a newfound appreciation for pottery and a beautiful piece I had created myself.

I can't recommend this wheel throwing class enough. If you're looking for a creative and enjoyable experience with a warm and friendly atmosphere, this is the place to be. I'll definitely be back for more classes in the future!

Rather than giving us endless clay to make mistakes, I think I would have preferred actual technique correction so that we left knowing we had created something we liked. We kept making the same mistakes over and over again with little direction on how to improve. It was still fun and would like to try it again

Our hens party had a brilliant time doing the ceramic painting session at Clay Soirée over the weekend!
Sally and Emma were incredibly accommodating in regards to our requests about food, drinks and the space, and were so easy to communicate with.
Our guide for the session, Ruby, was encouraging and helpful.
It was a perfect celebration and we would definitely recommend the workshop and Clay Soirée to others!

I really enjoyed this class! There was heaps of pottery items including vases, mugs, bowls and plates to pick from, as well as inspiration pieces and photos to help inspire your design. The teachers were also very helpful and made sure we had all the supplies we needed and grabbed extra paint pots or brushes for us. They also provide a pad and pencil where you can draw your design before you start painting. Definitely excited to see it once it is glazed and ready for pick up!

Definitely recommend booking your pottery painting class as a fun activity!

My friends and I had a wonderful time at Clay Soiree! I unfortunately for the life of me cannot remember our teachers name but we attended on the 27th of Aug at 12:30 and she was absolutely fantastic. Not only was she incredibly helpful, but funny too!
I love the vibe of this studio, it is super cute and you are given everything you could need to make some great products. The fact you get to glaze your own product with cute colours was so cool!
A real 10/10 experience - would definitely recommend!

The Clay Soirée workshop was excellent, the instructor was great at giving instructions and helping people, she wandered around and gave assistance and advice. I would recommend this workshop, as it is good value for money, you can select from a variety of clay pieces to paint and there is also good variety in glaze colors. I’m excited to see the finished products in a few weeks.

It's not as easy as you think Our instructor was lovely! She explained all the steps required (and there are many) and let us get on with it to make mistakes so we could learn on the next try. Doesn't matter if you mess up your piece, juest get another lump of clay and start again with "Dry Hands Dy Clay".

She managed to save a couple of my near disaster attempts and I turned out 2 nice bowls which I'm looking forward to using them once it has been painted and dried. There were 8 of us altogher so it was an intimate and fun experience and lots of help. I'd definately recommend to give this a go, it's funfrustratingand rewarding. You won't get 3 feeelings like that in any other class

Parking wasn't as bad on the Sunday at 3pm so there wasn't an issue but you will find lots of off street parking in and around the residential area.

I recently attended a clay throwing class, and it was an outstanding experience. Right from the start, the instructor greeted us with warmth, ensuring everyone felt welcomed. The complimentary coffee was a lovely touch, making the atmosphere even cozier.

Elly/Ellie was a great teacher. She was patient and also knew when to speed things up for us so that we could spend more time throwing the wheel. Generous with the time and materials and great value for money. 2 hours was more than enough to go through the content and allow us to practice. The location wasn’t difficult to access either. Overall a great and fun way to spend time with friends or with a special someone. Would be good to advise that our clothes may or may not be splattered with clay but that’s all right.

It was a good beginners class. It would have been better to have instructions as we go along rather than instructions for the whole experience at the very start so people could understand the overall flow of the exercise and know when to do what. As the studio also shared space with other activities, at times it was a little bit noisy especially when instructions were given out. Overall it was fun to try this out.

The class description states that you'll paint a cheese platter, unfortunately there were no platters on offer. There were many unique ceramic items you could choose from, mostly bowls and cups.

Great class! Wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon! The class group size was only 10 students which was good because it meant our teacher (Audrey) could give everyone enough 1:1 attention and assistance. The instructions at the start of the class were super thorough and helpful. Plenty of time left for having a good go on the wheel too. We really enjoyed ourselves and are very much looking to picking up our finished pieces in the coming weeks…. There were so many lovely coloured glazes to pick from at the end of class as well! This was the most relaxing and creative experience I've ever had!
The atmosphere was laid back and artistic, soft music and background videos playing through a projector. Everyone that works here is sweet and very knowledgeable, you can tell they love what they do!
The materials were easy to work with, which made the experience that much more relaxing. My friend and I had an amazing time sipping on tea, chatting and slowly painting our ceramic dishes!
If you're looking for something relaxed and creative to do with friends, family or a partner, I cannot recommend this enough!

Sophie and Emma were excellent teachers, we had such a fun morning throwing clay for the first time. The venue was well set up and you had the option to make as many pots/cups/etc. as you could within the two hours, only having to pay $10 per extra item (the first one is included in the price). You also got to choose the colour that your clay was glazed with, which was an added bonus. We will definitely be back soon, can't fault the experience at all

Really gifted as a teacher and I learn very quickly with Audrey’s teaching methods. It was perfect for me and fun as well as interesting. The equipment was all great to my knowledge and experience and we had plenty of materials to play with. Well prepared class and we will be back! We created a reel on Instagram already. Terrific pottery wheel throwing class this Saturday morning.
Lovely friendly instructor who took the time to make everyone feel welcome and provide individualised advice, encouragement and coaching as we worked.
The venue is a well designed airy space with heater (it was mid winter), water, coat storage etc and excellent clean quiet and modern pottery wheels.
The experience was great value for money as we discovered it includes firing and glazing of the pots, bowls and mugs we created.
Truly a lovely introduction to pottery in a great space and with generous instruction - looking forward to going back for more sessions on the wheel :)

The teacher was funny , helpful and very knowledgeable. The venue itself was well organised and not too hard to find . The class had enough material that were good quality . I would say it was great value for money as we get to take the final pieces home. I learnt the different techniques to make a pottery piece and that you need to be patient and slow down . I enjoyed the process of failing and trying again until I got a decent enough piece . Also huge shoutout to Emma and Audrey for helping me rebook after missing some of the class . It just goes to show how much they value the people who book and try to accomodate them.

The class flew by and we learned the basics of using a pottery wheel. The instructor started with a demo and then walked around to assist those in need. Great for beginners to get a taste of pottery. It would have been great to have another 15 mins to practice. Most people completed 1-2 pieces which they fire and glaze for you with pick up 4 weeks after the workshop. Make sure you wear clothes and shoes you don't mind getting dirty and bring a hair tie.

My wife and I attended this hands on class to create our art on the different types of clay that was provided.

The venue was chill and spacious, very well organised. There was another class being held for wheel throwing but it wasn't too distracting at all, once we got in the zone of making our piece I was able to focus and block out any distraction.

It was lovely to have such an enthusiastic teacher who assisted in any way, the coffee was good and we left the class quite proud of ourselves.

I organised a pottery class for my corporate team of 13 people, and it was an amazing experience. The studio went out of their way to accommodate us, giving us the opportunity to try both wheel throwing and hand painting activities. Susan was a fabulous teacher. She showed us step by step to wheel throwing clay. After that we had a go by ourselves. We had around 4 attempts to make our creations which was plenty. She was around the class helping those who needed. Overall a very fun class that is worth it!

I just felt the 2 hours was very rushed because the tracking takes a while and we need to get used to the wheel and have movement. Then cleaning. Towards the end it became very rushing for many of us.

Loved our class. Lots of different platters and bowls to choose from, along with inspiration photos and other pieces to draw ideas from. There was a great variety of glaze colours and they show you what they looked like glazed so you have an idea what you’re painting with. Can’t wait to pick up my fired piece in a few weeks

Emma was very encouraging and always gave us a ton of compliments. The many options to choose from were all very creative, however the painting was just so fun. The many dishes to choose from like dog bowls or mugs were also very well shaped and were all different and unique! We’ll definitely be coming back!

The entire class was just incredible start to finish. Everything from the venue (so beautiful, so aesthetic, so vibey, and we ended up strolling around cafes nearby), the teacher (Sally was just so lovely. One of the major reasons why we'll be coming back), to the actual experience itself (2 hours flew by!).

I'll definitely be bringing around all of my friends.

All materials for a good time and plenty of painting were provided. We were offered a range of different plates, bowls, cups, vases, and pot plants which we loved. A good amount of time was provided for us to paint two different pieces. Had a very entertaining time and now have some very personal pieces of kitchenware.

I booked this class for my friends birthday, there was 4 of us that attended the class. We all enjoyed the class so much!

Emma our teacher for the day she was so helpful and so kind. She gave us some ideas on what designs we could do, didn’t rush us and helped us when we needed her.

The studio had a nice vibe to it and spacious. We were able to choose two small ceramic pieces or one big one, I loved how we had a few options on what items we could paint on.

Can’t wait to come back!

My friend and I had such a fun time painting our platters! We just wished we were more prepared with an idea of what to paint beforehand. The location and studio vibes were so inspiring! Can’t recommend enough. Would do it again in a heartbeat.
