What you'll do
If you are looking at getting into candle making or just after a fun activity to do on the weekend then this is the workshop for you.
Discover how to create personalised, soy wax candles in Brisbane led by Sheri Vegas who is considered to be the candle queen in workshop circles! Plus, you'll also learn the art of working with moulds to make pillar candles.
In this casual and fun class, you will learn how to make your own:
1x Large custom scented soy wax contain candle
1x Soy wax & beeswax blend wax melt
1x Pillar candle
You will also be shown how to create imbeds to add on as decoration to candles.
What you’ll learn:
- Benefits of the different wax types you will use on the day.
- Difference between essential oils and fragrance
- How to choose the right wick
- Step-by-step instructions, demonstration and hands-on practice.
- The difference between making a container candle to pillar candle
- How to use silicone moulds
- How to use metal moulds
- Different ways to add a wick into pillar candles
- How to de-mould pillar candles
- how to add candle toppers on top of container candles
- How to add fragrance or essential oils into your candles the correct way.
- Leave with an understanding of the different types of colours available to add to your soy wax.
- Why melt and pour temperatures are so important
