Join us for a four-week beginners pottery course in the art of wheel throwing!

What you'll do

Order on or before 26 May, for a discounted price of
$300 per guest (usually $350).
Support a not-for-profit and join us for an introductory four week course that explores the exciting world of pottery wheel-throwing. No prior experience needed.
In this course, you will learn the basics of ceramics in a friendly and encouraging environment, starting with a broad slab of clay and progressing all the way through to a finished piece of pottery. We will focus on making functional ware such as cups, bowls and vases.
The course will cover:
- Basic ceramic theory
- Ceramics OH&S and good art studio practice
- Wedging and centering
- The forming of pottery vessels on the wheel
- Finishing techniques such as trimming, decorating and glazing
All bisque/glazed finished works are charged at $12 per kilo. Pottery pieces can be collected 3-4 weeks after the course finishes.
NOTE: for class starting Saturday 25th May, there will be no class on 8th June due to public holiday long weekend.
Please note:
- No shows will not be refunded, as we are a not-for-profit, any transfer of classes will incur a $10 fee to cover admin staff time. At this stage, we do not have the capacity for makeup classes.
- All profits from workshops held at Little Woods go towards helping fund the programs of Jesuit Social Services.
- We are an accredited NDIS provider.

Knowledge required
This is a beginner-friendly course. People with prior knowledge are also welcome.
