What you'll do
Discover the art of exposed spine binding in our immersive workshop at Owl and Lion Bindery. Participants will learn how to create several variations of stitch designs which showcase the intricacies of stitching work sewn onto a piece of 'wrap around' leather. These handcrafted books are ideal for presenting work, sketchbooks, gifts, or artist books.
Upon completion of the workshop, participants will depart with their own hand-bound books and the skills to create more at home with minimal equipment.
Introduction to Bookbinding 2 is the second instalment in our four-part series of introductory bookbinding workshops. While it is part of a series, participants are welcome to join individually based on their interests and skill levels.

Knowledge required
Suitable for complete beginners includes tea, coffee, and biscuits.All materials and tools provided, you will go home with your own set of lino cutting tools and some rubber blocks to continue your new passion.
This is a technical workshop; anyone with enthusiasm for making books and sewing is welcome to join in. No experience is necessary, but the workshop requires a certain level of capability and confidence in using sharp instruments, and being able to follow verbal instructions is expected.
