Looking for fun things to do in Melbourne? Join leading illustrator Sarah Hankison as she takes you on a drawing adventure using outback botanicals as your inspiration.
“River of Sand” is Sarah’s walking memories of her time spent traipsing the Larapinta Trail in the West MacDonnell Ranges, NT. Drawing from her time rambling through this other worldly landscape, Sarah will demonstrate to you the skill and magic behind illustration using a variety of mixed media including oil pastels, ink, charcoal and watercolour.
This workshop is designed to guide you through illustration basics including what materials to use, how to mix colours and developing your own style within the various mediums on offer.
Whether you're a beginner in drawing or want to take your artistic skills to the next level, Sarah will be your friendly guide, helping you create a stunning masterpiece you can be proud of!
In this class you will create a still life scene arranged in the centre of the table - each viewpoint slightly different. Sarah's practice blends traditional and non traditional approaches to still life drawing, with no experience in drawing or illustration required.
The hope is that as you create, you will find your own way within the workshop, and have the confidence to continue still life drawing as your new, creative hobby!
