Private Stone Setting Workshop: Claw and Bezel Basics

Discover the fascinating art of setting for faceted stones in this hands-on class in Melbourne!

In this class, you'll explore different types of setting techniques, bezel and claw settings and gain the skills to create stunning and unique designs.

Suitable for individuals with beginner to intermediate metalworking skills, this class provides the perfect opportunity to learn how to set your own stones. You'll be guided by an experienced teacher who will provide expert advice, tips, and demonstrations.

During the class, you will delve into the basics of graver preparation, including how to put handles on your gravers and tailor them to your hand size requirements.

You'll also master the art of shaping, sharpening, polishing, and maintaining your tools by hand. There is an "add-on" option included for us to purchase your gravers and handles for you when you book ($80). Or you can request we send you the tool list and you will then purchase them prior to your class.

By the end of this class, you'll have newfound knowledge and skills needed to continue your own setting work. You'll also take home setting blanks and stones for you to continue to practise with.
