label $75 (or 4 payments of $18.75 Afterpay)

Have you ever wanted to capture your writing as visual pieces or just curious to learn how to illustrate in a journal? This workshop is the perfect introduction to visual journaling exploring colours, drawing, and interpreting text as we learn about the benefits of daily sketching and drawing. Creating with pencil, watercolour, and Posca pens, this workshop has you drawing 3 to 4 small artworks and learning how to capture an image from your writing.

Journaling has many healing benefits and not only is it an effective method for stress reduction, it is also considered a creative way to express personal narratives, life stories, and bringing meaning through imagery, creative writing, and story sharing.

This 2-hour workshop is open to all skill levels, and all materials are provided on the day. This is a fun and easy class exploring patterns, colour, and design. Please leave your expectation of perfection at the door; these workshops were created for you to let go, play, be curious all while stepping into your creativity.

Bodhi is my Havanese dog and your welcoming committee. He takes his role very seriously, but if you are uncomfortable with dogs, please let me know. He is a hypoallergenic fluff ball who will make you feel very welcome.

Hello, my name is Serena. I’m an illustrator, artist, teacher, speaker and all-round creative, and I’m excited to share my creative and wellness workshops with you!
As a fulltime picture book illustrator and graphic novel artist, my ultimate joy is teaching adults that anything is possible if you are open to heart felt exploration and play.

In my twenties I worked as an artist for Walt Disney Studios where I gained most of my illustration skills and scribbled my way onto the credits of some highly recognised sequels such as The Lion King II, Jungle Book II and The Little Mermaid II.

My love of illustration and teaching has moved my focus from kids classes to running workshops for adults teaching visual journaling and creative drawing. Inspired by the increasing number of adults sharing their limiting belief around drawing, I wanted to bring in ways to share my years of drawing combined with my wellness workshops.

I find joy in meeting new people, guiding others in creating art that reflects their mood, ignites their imagination and captures their day. I am always open to hosting events and engaging in exciting collaborations with businesses.
