Roola Boola Quirky Creatures Sculpture Class for Kids

Budding sculptors are invited to take part in our Clay Workshop this school holidays.

6 to 12 years     1.5 hours Class size 1 to 10     label $20

Quirky Creatures will inspire children to invent and sculpt in clay imaginary animals based on the sculptures found in the Duldig Studio.

The program will start with a young person’s tour of the Duldig House Museum where participants will be introduced to the life and sculptures, many of them of animals, of the eminent artist Karl Duldig (1902 – 1984).

Participants will then work with our sculptor in residence in a real-life sculptor’s studio to make sculptures based on their ideas, imagination, and creativity. It will be fun and messy!

Included in the sculpture morning will be a treasure hunt in the Duldig Studio sculpture garden where children can explore and be challenged by over 30 sculptures in our beautiful sculpture garden.

Ticket price includes morning tea.

The Duldig family home was opened as a museum in 1996. In 2002, the association, The Duldig Gallery Inc. became incorporated as a public museum and art gallery to operate the Duldig Studio. It is a tax exempt charity and recognised as a deductible gift recipient institution under the Commonwealth Government’s Cultural Gifts Program. At this time a gallery space was added to the original house so that changing exhibitions could be mounted. Within the house a number of rooms are maintained as they were during the family’s residence. Karl’s original studio, with kiln, tools and work across all periods has been kept as it was left by the artist, and in the adjoining garden the bronze and terracotta sculptures also remain in situ.
