Introduction to Pan Pastel: Botanical Art Drawing Workshop

Come and learn how to draw with a sponge!

4.5 hours Class size 4 to 30 guests       $158

Come and learn one of my favourite mediums with me!
PanPastel is a soft pastel compressed in a pan that you apply with a special sponge tool. It can be hard to wrap your head around how to use it at first, so we're going to start with the basics and only use the black pan in this workshop. This is one of my favourite ways to work with this medium, and I'm sure you'll love it.
After I've shared some of my past PanPastel works with you, we'll start out with some exercises to familiarise ourselves with the mark-making capabilities of the sponge tool. We'll also test out how to use different erasers to add extra marks or highlights through subtractive techniques.
I'll then be guiding you through how to use these techniques on a large botanical artwork from start to finish. You will be able to choose between the two different floral pieces included in the listing images. The line art is provided to begin with if you aren't comfortable drawing. All materials are provided for use within the class, and you'll go home with your 56cm x 76cm (22" x 30") gorgeous botanical piece that you've created.
We'll have a short break in the middle, so please bring something along to eat if you like (a fridge and microwave are available to use). Tea and coffee are provided.
Workshop Venue:
Hive Studios Unit 13, 10 Depot Street Banyo, Qld, 4014
*Please note: this class is booked into the upstairs space at Hive Studios, which requires walking up two flights of stairs. If this is an issue for you, please get in touch, and I can see if the downstairs space is available instead. Thank you!
