Mobile Pottery Class for Hens Parties and Friends Afternoons

Mobile pottery class at your home or venue, designed for hens parties, birthdays, and girls’ nights.

2 hours Class size 1 to 16 guests       $85 (PayPal Pay in 4 available)

Melissa will guide your group through a relaxed, hands-on pottery session using simple hand-building techniques. The class is beginner-friendly and suitable even if you’ve never worked with clay before.
Your group will choose one shared project so everyone creates a similar piece. Popular options include bowls, mugs, plates, kitchenware, or nature-inspired ceramics.
This experience is available in two formats:
  • Mobile — Melissa brings all materials to your home or venue anywhere in Brisbane (ideal for groups of 8–16).
  • Sandgate location servicing Northside Brisbane — for smaller groups of 4–8 by arrangement.
All clay, glazing, and kiln firing are included. Finished pieces will be glazed and fired after the session and ready for collection a few weeks later.
This private class is well suited to hens parties, birthdays, girls’ nights, and other adult group celebrations.

I’m Melissa, a potter and English teacher based in Brighton on the northern bayside of Brisbane. I've been more seriously doing pottery for about six years after taking a class in wheel throwing. Working with clay is addictive, good for personal well-being, and achievable — and that’s why I keep coming back to it.
I now work from my home studio, where I enjoy both hand-building and wheel throwing objects that I mostly gift to family and friends. I'm a member of my local community studio, which allows me to learn from other potters. I now fire at home with my own kiln and mix many of my own glazes.
Alongside making, I've taught high school English and Arts for about ten years. My workshops are calm, encouraging, and thoughtfully structured — and I cater mostly for beginners.
I'm fairly confident that after a class or two, you may catch the very contagious pottery bug, and I hope you do.
