Step into the vibrant world of modern watercolour as we explore colour, technique and creative expression through the beauty of Australian birdlife. In this class, you’ll learn contemporary watercolour methods (such as layering, wet-on-wet blending, textural effects and bold colour application) while creating your own lively compositions of iconic Australian birds.
  • Guided step by step, you’ll discover how to combine loose, flowing washes with sharper details to bring feathers, beaks and movement to life.
  • Whether you’re new to watercolour or looking to refine your skills, this workshop is designed to build confidence, spark creativity and leave you with a finished piece that celebrates both technique and imagination.
Expect a relaxed, inspiring atmosphere where experimentation is encouraged and the colourful spirit of Australia’s birdlife takes centre stage.
What you'll get
All art materials are provided, along with water, warming chai, and a delicious grazing platter to share. Feel free to BYO your favourite drop if you’d like.
Knowledge required
No knowledge or skills are required. We provide a fun and relaxed art space, where everyone is encouraged to have a go and get creative. There is zero pressure for perfection here, however my hope is that you leave with a few new skills under your belt, a big smile after a fun workshop, and a love of watercolour and our beautiful Australian landscape and bird life.

I discovered the thrill of creating beauty using the humble pencil as a child. I have studied* and created art all my life, exhibiting in Sydney, Queensland, California and London. I now love to use the skills I have learnt over the years to create original art experiences for my students which provide them a space to discover their own unique voice and style, in whatever medium they are drawn to.
My interest increasingly lies in the joy of the process rather than the finished piece, but more often than not if the former is there, and a state of flow is entered, the finished piece will unfold.
I bring to my sessions years of knowledge on technique and materials, a big heart and a desire to see in my students both enjoyment and a state of peace in the moments when they are creating. Art is more than the images we can create. It is also the energy, the truths, the thoughts and imagination that become freed. Art can make us feel more joy, more confident, more centred and at ease.
My art classes have been running for the past 8 years in Brisbane and on the Sunshine Coast. My classes are designed to create a fun space for kids and adults to explore their creativity and imaginations. No pressure with maximum fun.
All of my classes provide not only all the materials you will need, but a peaceful backdrop of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland as well as grazing platters, endless tea and chai.
