Advanced Hand Building Course

Push the boundaries of what you can achieve by creating with clay, glaze, and firing

8 x 2.5 hours Class size 1 to 8 guests       $625 (PayPal Pay in 4 available)

Join our intermediate hand building course and learn beyond the basics. With your experienced tutor, either Jack Latti on a weekday or Karine Nadtochii, you will delve deeper into the world of ceramics.
In this eight-week course, the first four weeks will focus on skill development and testing different clays. You will be guided through small clay making exercises, which will help tighten your skills but also allow you to open your mind to new ideas to explore.
For the remaining four weeks, you will decide what object you would like to make and which of the making techniques, clay bodies, and glaze/firing finishes will suit the piece. The results from the first four weeks will inform how each student decides to approach this. Jack and Karine will help extract and execute the ideas that you dream up.
In this course, you can make anything from tableware to sculpture. You'll be amazed at what you can achieve by building on the basic skills that you already have.
By the end of the course, you'll have honed your skill set and also have a collection of original ceramics that reflect you as a maker.
Note: If you exceed the eight kilograms of firing allowance, additional firing is at the standard The Kiln Room pricing.
