Whether you come along solo, with your bestie, or as part of a small group, this workshop is the perfect way to switch off, reconnect, spend a meaningful few hours surrounded by like-minded people and create your very own beaded jewellery to take home.
With our small class sizes (maximum 8 participants), you’ll enjoy an intimate and relaxed atmosphere where you can learn at your own pace, ask questions freely, and receive expert guidance from your tutor Siobhan, who will provide support at every step of the process.

What You’ll Experience:
In our Beading 101 class you will not only have fun, you’ll walk away having:
  • Learnt the fundamentals of beaded jewellery making, design and construction — including using tiger tail, crimp beads, clasps, jump rings, head pins, bead caps and more to achieve a professional finish.
  • Explored your individual style — go boho, minimalist, modern, colourful, or classic. Match, mismatch, or mix it all up — the design choices are endless and uniquely yours.
  • Designed and handcrafted your own necklace, bracelet, and earrings that are professional in finish, personal in meaning and entirely your own design.
  • Received friendly, expert guidance from Siobhan, an experienced jewellery maker and creative tutor who is passionate about helping you make your ideas shine and who’ll support and encourage you every step of the way.
  • Able to upgrade to gemstones at $70 per person, pay on the day. Higher quality pearls are also available and will be per pearl strand cost, pay on the day.

You’ll have access to our stunning collection of materials in all shapes, colours and styles, including glass, crystal, gemstone chips, ceramic, acrylic, wood, metal, and polymer clay beads to create beautiful lasting keepsakes of your time learning with us. We use stainless steel or plated brass findings in class, and for a touch of luxury we also offer optional upgrades that you can view and pay on the day including semi-precious gemstones and pearls plus sterling silver or gold-filled components.
Enjoy the calm pace of our studio, a cosy cup of tea or coffee with bikkies, and the satisfaction of making something beautiful with your own hands.
The Details

  • Group Size: Small boutique- style classes with a maximum of 8 participants for in house events.
  • Includes: Tuition, use of all tools, and enough findings and beads to create your chosen necklace, bracelet, and earrings or a combination of this.
  • Optional: Bring your own sentimental beads to incorporate into your design

What you'll get
WORKSHOP OUTCOME: One short necklace and earrings set, or 2x bracelet and earrings set or one x extra-long necklace.
MATERIALS - Participants have access to all seed beads in 2/2.5/3mm and limited house beads e.g. gemstone chips, small crystal/glass, evil eye etc. Tall Trees Studio will supply all basic materials including findings in stainless steel or plated brass findings.
Upgrades - Yes, select and pay on the day.

  • A+ pearls strands sold separately,
  • Focal beads upgrade $25 - choose up to 6 single gemstones or pearls to use as focal pieces.
  • Full upgrade to pearls and gemstone beads $70 - choose from the full range of pearls and facetted gemstones

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners or someone who may have previously dabbled in beaded jewellery making. Participants must be 16+ in age.
What to bring
Please wear closed toe shoes and tie back long hair.
Arriving on time for your class is essential so that you don't miss out on valuable information, so we recommend aiming to be here 10 minutes early to browse around and settle in.

Tall Trees Studio now has two dedicated Tutors for our various workshops.
Helene for all Precious Metal Forming Jewellery Workshops and Siobhan for all Beading Jewellery Workshops.
Helene is the owner and Goldsmith in Tall Trees Studio & Gallery and lives on Mt Dandenong. Helene's passion is handcrafted jewellery, not the mass produced items being produced by casting in factories. Traditional slow hand crafted, starting from granule, alloying to carat, making sheet and wire, then hand crafting the pieces, incorporating both traditional and contemporary techniques.
Helene enjoy handcrafting jewellery so much that she finds that she loves sharing this passion with more people.
Siobhan is local to The Dandenong Ranges and has been running her own successful jewellery business and conducting creative workshops, for over 10 years. She first started learning different jewellery making skills in her teens before embarking on a more corporate career in Human Resources, Training and Development and being a mum to her three children.
Together with her vast jewellery making skills plus her qualifications in and love of training, she is now extending her workshop schedule to share her skills with us at Tall Trees Studio. Siobhan holds a current working with children check.
