Fused Glass Jewellery Workshop

Learn how to make gorgeous fused glass jewellery

3 hours Class size 1 to 10 guests

$135 - $160 ($160 per guest when you book for 1 guest, $150/guest for 2+ guests, $135/guest for 8+ guests. $50 per class surcharge applies for private classes)

Come along and have some fun in a gorgeous, arty environment while learning to make a variety of fused glass jewellery pieces.
Merryl’s Mosaics is open to the public to come and attend a one-off fused glass jewellery class in Melbourne. No experience is necessary, just book in and come and have a fun time making unique jewellery pieces. This class is perfect if you're looking for a unique adult party, a hen's party, a corporate workshop or an experience gift for special occasions.
You will learn how to make five different types of glass jewellery, which you will then make into pendants earrings, rings, brooches or cufflinks. During the class, you will learn how to cut glass and see how different glass behaves so that you can achieve different outcomes.
You will learn how to make:
  • Fused glass jewellery with a variety of finished surfaces
  • Dichroic glass jewellery
  • Cabochons (colourful glass beads and organic shapes) using a variety of techniques
  • Jewellery using reactive glass
  • Jewellery using inclusions like silver foils
  • A variety of stacking techniques to create unique pieces
You can make up to eight pieces of jewellery as part of the course with a maximum of six dichroic pieces (if you would like to make more pieces there will be an extra charge for the glass and jewellery findings).
TW0-STAGE PROCESSES:
Some of our most beautiful jewellery requires two firing stages. You make the first part, leave it for us to fire, then when you return you work with the fired pieces to make the second stage. If you would like to make some of these pieces you can make them in the first workshop, then book in a time to return for stage 2. Cost would be at a rate of $30 per hour. The second stage is usually not that long - maybe 30 minutes - so if you choose to make new pieces on your return, cost would be $30 per hour plus a price per new piece including jewellery bails. You can budget $12 - $15 per piece. You can decide on the day if you want to make 2-stage pieces.
Your pieces will be left at Merryl’s Mosaics for firing and can be picked up about 2 weeks later.
If you would like to schedule your session during weekdays we are very flexible and can accept as little as one booking during a weekday as we have capacity to work with you even if it is one-on-one. You can request to book in at 10am or at 1.30pm weekdays this way for your session.

  • 5/5 from Alison Pritchard, attended Aug 2026: I absolutely LOVED this class! Kiki was so lovely full of knowledge, explained everything what it was all about and the stages and I have a Disability and she was so compassionate, patient and encouraging. I loved the different types of designs you could make with the amazing range of glass and can’t wait to see the finished pieces I made in this class. I am going to give them as Christmas Presents this year and also show people that people with a Disability can do amazing things and express themselves. I put thought into my pieces I made to suit the Indivaluality to the person I made it for. I would most definitely recommend you book to do this class, you won’t want to leave!
