Gardening Workshop: Dividing and Sharing Dahlias

Learn how to care for your dahlia tubers in Melbourne!

1.5 hours Class size 1 to 24 guests       $65 (PayPal Pay in 4 available)

Join us at our hilltop flower farm in the heart of the Yarra Valley for a hands-on seasonal workshop dedicated to one of our favourite flowers, the dahlia.
Grown in the rich volcanic soils of our family-run farm, our dahlias are known for their vibrant colours, unique forms, and exceptional quality. Many of the varieties we grow are bred right here at Botaniculture, and you won’t find them anywhere else.
In this relaxed and practical session, you’ll learn everything you need to care for your dahlia tubers through the cooler months - from digging and dividing to storing and replanting for the seasons ahead.
Weather permitting, the day begins with a guided tour of our working flower farm. Then, you’ll get your hands dirty as our team walks you through the full dahlia process, sharing expert advice on how to build your own cut flower patch at home.
At Botaniculture, we believe in growing with care, for the land, the flowers, and our community. Everything we do is rooted in environmentally responsible practices, and this workshop is an extension of that ethos.
Come and share in the joy of slow flowers, thoughtful growing, and life in full bloom.
If you’re searching for dahlia tubers in Australia, or looking for dahlia tubers for sale in Melbourne or Victoria, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to learn from the source and take home a piece of it with you.
What you'll get
Each guest will have the opportunity to divide their own clump and take home a selection of mystery dahlias to plant and enjoy.

Knowledge required
We welcome flower lovers of all levels----no prior experience is needed.
Whether you're an aspiring grower, a home gardener, or simply curious, this workshop offers a beautiful way to connect with nature and deepen your knowledge of dahlias in a peaceful, inspiring setting.
What to bring
  • Visiting our flower farm is a hands-on experience, so we recommend wearing casual, comfortable clothing and safe, closed-toe shoes or gumboots. As this is a working farm, the fields can get muddy and a little slippery, especially after rain.
  • Be sure to bring along a sun hat, sunscreen, gardening gloves, and of course, your camera—there will be plenty of beautiful moments worth capturing.
  • Come prepared for a day in nature, and enjoy the full experience of life on the farm.
