The learning is broken up in to bite sized chunks of just the right size. This provides a good feel for the various techniques involved with this type of art. Having a teacher who has been using these skills was also entertaining, to have someone as skilled to hand to question and learn from was certainly a highlight (along with a broad brush dab of humour thrown in!). The venue is a bit of an inspiration in itself as you can almost taste the creativity in the air. The great part? Obviously you don’t come out as an expert, but it gives enough foundational skills to be able to build up from what was presented and the motivation to do so.

Linda was engaging, funny and encouraging, and made you forget about the "rules" of art. My confidence in watercolour grew so much that I used what I had learned to design Birthday cards for my colleagues. Cannot recommend enough!!

(I hadn't been there since its original days as the Auction House). Linda, our teacher, was lovely, inspiring, and kept the class moving along at a good pace. She covered lots of interesting topics and ideas, which were both novel and practical tips. Linda added value and insight into much of what we were creating through her knowledge of birdlife and species. The materials provided were practical and versatile and could be taken home to continue our practice. I consider that the whole workshop was on a suitable level to cover the different skills within our group for an introduction to Water Colour Illustration, with pen and paint. The exercise that I found particularly useful was that of combining two images into one work. It was very engaging and worthwhile. Our time was well spent, and lunch was very nice also. I really enjoyed the hot drinks ordered to individual preferences, as it was a rather chilly day at Kyneton.

Was a delight to feel free to immerse and experiment in mediums and not feel at all inadequate - given I have minimal practical art experience.

It was helpful to try several different approaches to using ink and watercolour, and I was able to develop my skills in a few areas. It was also lovely to take home a quality little ink and watercolour kit to keep using!

I loved the opportunity to create composite illustrations, and left the class with a handful of half finished exercises and ideas of how to make the techniques mine within my own subject matter/style. The instructor was lovely, knowledgeable and funny. I would recommend this course.

The course covered a lot of ground for people with limited skills, and some participants produced some very nice work. Linda exposed us to a wide range of techniques and varied the exercises throughout the day to maintain a good pace. It was also nice to see Linda talk with each participant about their partickluar interests throughout the day and offer advice-be it landscapes or birds or plants. All the materials were provided which made it easy. For me the most valuable part was seeing the range of media that could be used in conjunction with watercolour to create the different effects. The venue was well suited to the workshop and the catering was very welcome and good quality

Linda was great in sharing her experiences with both pupils that had art experience and the non experience like me. The products that were part of the class were really of good quality and definitely will be very useful to me. I especially liked how Linda shared how to draw sketch birds and also flowers.
