Introduction to Bookbinding Workshop

Make a leather journal and explore the pamphlet stitch!

5 hours Class size 1 to 8 guests

  $160 - $165 ($165 per guest when you book for 1 guest, $160/guest for 2+ guests)

In this engaging workshop, you'll immerse yourself in the art of bookbinding. You will create two books during this workshop: one paper booklet and one leather journal, as well as leave with the skills and tools to continue making books at home!
No experience is needed, Rhain will guide you through the process step by step, ensuring you feel confident and empowered throughout the class.
You will discuss all the terminology, the specifications of the materials to end up with the best finish and the different techniques to complete both a simple pamphlet, as well as the options that the often overlooked Pamphlet Stitch can open up when paired with different artist mediums.
Using high-quality materials and traditional techniques, you'll learn how to bind your own books from scratch and will leave with your tools from the day, your books and an instruction sheet to refer back to at home.

The activity, learning to hand bind a book, was enjoyable, a little challenging (that leather was tough) but the class was designed to ensure we all succeed. I would recommend this, indeed any class taken by Rhain, she is a quality and caring instructor who clearly loves sharing her skills with others. THANK YOU
