Looking to learn a new craft with a friend, or have some time out with friends or family in White Rock, near Ripley? Come along and learn to make a mug rug or coaster while learning the art of crochet, and enjoy a cuppa.

Feel free to bring your own project to work on for help or just to get together and chat.

Your teacher has been crocheting, knitting and sewing since a child and loves making things that make people happy while keeping an old art form alive and thriving!

You can choose to purchase the starter kit or bring your 4ml crochet hook and 8-ply wool.

The starter kit includes:

  • 4ml crochet hook
  • 8ply wool
  • Yarn needle
  • Measuring tape

Class numbers are kept small to allow the teacher to give one-on-one attention when learning.

Take home your project to continue working on at home - a great handmade gift for a special someone or to enjoy yourself. Then you can come back again when you are ready, to continue or start a new project.

Please note this is being held in your teacher's home and they have two small harmless, but very loud Chihuahuas. If you have pet allergies we cannot provide a safe space at this stage.

Benita has been a maker since she was a child, sewing her doll's clothes by hand and learning to crochet and knit with her Nanna.

During the 2021 Covid-19 Pandemic she decided to return to her love of making and start designing and making all the things she missed creating.

She loves to design surface patterns, sew and crochet. There are so many things she loves, how can you have a favourite?

Since Crochet is having such a renewed interest she is keen to show you all the wonderful things you can make with this craft.
