FAQ

Can my child attend?
Yes. One kit per paying person. You can work on your echidnas together with one kit, and pay for one person. Needle felting is best for ages 10+ unless your child has had previous experience with needle felting. The needles are very sharp and can break if not used correctly. Please let me know if two people are sharing the one kit so I can ensure I set the correct number of chairs and seating allocations.
How much stitching is involved?
We use the needle and thread to attach the soft spiky fabric to your needle felted echidna body. Very basic in and out stitches are used. Glasses are recommended if you normally wear them for close up work.

I've always been drawn to the arts and the act of creating—it's been a constant thread throughout my life. Whether through painting, writing, design, or experimenting with new mediums, the creative process has always offered me a sense of purpose and joy. There's something deeply satisfying about learning a new skill, watching it take shape through practice, and seeing an idea come to life through my own hands. For me, creating isn’t just about the final product—it’s about the journey, the discovery, and the fulfillment that comes from turning imagination into something real.
As a Primary School teacher, I love watching my students learn and grow. It is important to me that I create a friendly, calm and welcoming environment so that all learners can achieve and enjoy the process of creating, no matter where they are on their learning journey, in a nurturing environment.
Working with wool, such wet and needle felting, ties us to history and the age old craft of creating with natural fibres. Whether it is a piece of art work, functional object or a piece to wear, working with wool is a beautiful medium that provides a calming and mindful process that allows our mind to wander while we stay focused on the creative experience.
