Hi, I’m Jacqueline — a textile artist, fashion designer, and pattern maker specialising in eco printing, natural dyeing, felting, and contemporary textile art. I run Tweed Valley Textile Company in the Northern Rivers, where I teach hands-on eco printing workshops, felting workshops, and textile art classes inspired by nature, fibre, and slow creative practice.
My journey began in the fashion industry, where I spent decades developing garments, drafting patterns, and refining my eye for fabric, fit, and construction. Although I loved fashion design, I gradually became drawn to the expressive, sculptural possibilities of fibre art. Working with merino wool, silk, and natural materials opened up a new creative path — one that blends design expertise with the intuitive, organic qualities of eco dyeing, colour, and texture.
Eco leaf printing and felting remain at the heart of my practice. I love the moment when a silk bundle is unwrapped to reveal botanical prints, or when loose merino fibres transform into a solid 3D felted form. These processes feel grounding, meditative, and deeply connected to the environment — and that’s the experience I share in my workshops.
As an experienced fashion designer and pattern maker, I bring technical knowledge to everything I teach. My background includes working with Australian and U.S. labels, producing custom garments, and teaching at TAFE NSW and other schools. Today, I combine my industry experience with my passion for eco printing, felting, and textile design, offering workshops where beginners and creatives alike can explore fibres, colour, and natural materials with confidence.
I love helping people discover their creativity. Many students arrive saying they’re “not artistic, ” yet leave with beautiful eco-printed textiles, felted sculptures, and the joy of learning something new. My classes are friendly, welcoming, and designed to help you reconnect with hands-on making in a slow, mindful way.
If you’re interested in eco printing, felting, textile art, or simply want a meaningful creative experience in the Northern Rivers, I’d love to welcome you into my Northern NSW Studio.
