  • 5/5 from Yazmin Lee Albrey, attended Jan 2026: ️️️️️ I cannot recommend Kathy’s stone setting class highly enough! It was truly one of the most enjoyable and inspiring days I’ve had in a long time. From the moment I arrived, Kathy was incredibly welcoming, warm and genuinely lovely to spend the day with. The class itself was so thoughtfully run. Kathy provided clear, step-by-step guidance that made the whole process feel achievable, and by the end of the day I had created the most beautiful stone bezel ring. What made it even more special was how she took the time to talk with me about my personal style and what I was hoping to create, and then tailored the experience around that. It felt very personal and supportive. She also put on the most gorgeous afternoon tea grazing platter, and the day naturally ended with us just sitting, chatting and enjoying the space which honestly made the experience feel even more special. Kathy has such an incredible depth of knowledge across so many trades, and you can truly feel her years of experience in the way she teaches. On top of that, she is just an unreal human she is kind, generous with her time, and so easy to connect with. I’m so grateful my mum bought me this class as a birthday gift. Using the voucher was a super simple process, and the whole experience from start to finish was seamless. I walked away not only with a beautiful piece of jewellery, but with new skills, confidence, and such a lovely memory. If you’re considering doing one of Kathy’s classes do it. You won’t regret it.
  • 5/5 from Dianne Asdagi, attended Sep 2025: I thoroughly enjoyed this class. Kathy is a fabulous teacher. She explains everything so clearly and provides a demonstration so that you know exactly what to do. I absolutely love the ring that I created and highly recommend this course.
  • 5/5 from Natasha Cerexhe, attended Aug 2025: This was a beautiful, bespoke experience. Kathy is a kind, patient and passionately creative educator that knows how to balance guidance with the individual's artistic direction. She did not gatekeep any knowledge, was keen to nurture interest, and always had a troubleshooting trick to make the perfect product. This was a really special experience and we love our rings. Highly recommend if you're looking for something soothing but more serious.
  • 5/5 from Guy Read, attended Jul 2025: Kathy is a phenomenal teacher and a talented jeweller, she has a great balance between teacher and helper - I learnt so much more about making rings than expected AND Kathy helped me to bring my idea to life. The experience of this class was fantastic, very inviting and personal which separates it from other jeweling classes - I’m super stoked with my ring!!
  • 5/5 from Kristen Del Tondo, attended Jun 2025: Kathy is an absolutely amazing teacher - from the initial consult to finished product she is patient and informative every step of the way! As a complete beginner, the class was extremely well suited and Kathy allows you to be completely hands on whilst still providing assistance when needed. The home studio is so warm, welcoming and you really feel comfortable in the space. We absolutely adore the rings we created and can’t recommend this workshop enough!
  • 5/5 from Genevieve van der Sluijs, attended Jan 2025: The class with Kathy was great. She was a calm and attentive teacher and explained everything so well. Kathy was able to answer any questions I had and can make the class suit your skill level. The set up was clean and organised, there was a range of stones to choose from and delicious food was provided. A very enjoyable day and I love my ring, thank you!
  • 5/5 from Olivia Hines, attended Jan 2025: Kathy is such a wonderful teacher. She’s very patient and kind. There was a good variety of stones to choose from. The lunch was delicious and Kathy’s house was clean and comfortable. Very happy with my finished ring.
  • 5/5 from Phoebe Wynn-Pope, attended Jan 2025: Kathy was an excellent trainer. She extracted my skills level and shaped her training to match. Good balance of demonstration and allowing me to do it while providing verbal advice - when required. Kathy provided much additional information to help me with my entry into the stone world. Kathy was a delightful and instructive trainer.

Kathy grew up in a very creative family. Her parents were potters and had a large workshop in the backyard. They always encouraged her to explore different arts and crafts. When Kathy was around 12 years old, her dad bought her a copper enamelling set. This was her first experience working with metals. She spent hours playing around, making jewellery in the corner of their pottery workshop.
Kathy went on to study Art Education at University, majoring in Jewellery Design and Silversmithing. She was fortunate to have the most patient and inspirational Silver Smithing teacher. It took her a lot of practice to really understand the process, but once she did, she was hooked.
After finishing her studies she moved to the UK where she worked in a school teaching primary aged children and coordinating the school’s Art program. During that time she took part in a workplace exchange program at the Tate Gallery in London.
Later, she moved back to Australia and studied a Master of Education - Gifted and Inclusive Education. She spent many years teaching support, extension, and creative development programs in schools whilst making jewellery on the side. Then at the end of 2017, she took a leap of faith, resigned from her teaching job and began making jewellery full time.
Kathy recently combined her two passions and now teaches private jewellery classes from her home based studio. She teaches traditional silversmithing, wax carving, gem setting, and metal clay.
Kathy describes creating handmade jewellery as a continuous journey in experimentation, problem solving, reflection, regrouping, and up-skilling. She aims to provide a fun, personalised experience where each student leaves feeling confident in their new skills.
