Wet Felted Soap Workshop

Turn everyday soap into a soft, handmade ritual with natural fibres

2 hours Class size 1 to 10 guests       $50 (PayPal Pay in 4 available)

Step away from the rush and settle into a relaxed, hands-on felting workshop where you’ll turn everyday soap into something beautifully tactile and unique. Using natural wool fibres, you’ll learn the gentle art of wet felting: layering, wrapping, and shaping wool around soap to create a soft, durable finish. It’s a simple, satisfying process that’s as calming as it is creative, with results that are both practical and a little bit special. Your finished felted soaps will lightly exfoliate, last longer, and bring a handmade touch to the everyday.
You will be guided by local fibre artist Suellen Steward of Farm2Fingers. Suellen is inspired by slow, handmade living and the quiet beauty of natural materials. She began spinning in 2009 and, after welcoming her first sheep in 2011, started working with her own wool and is now selling her hand spun yarn at local artisan markets and supporting indie dyers through her craft. With a deep appreciation for how natural fibres work together, Suellen enjoys sharing traditional skills like felting, one of the oldest forms of fibre art in a relaxed, creative and gently guided way.
This beginner-friendly session is all about slowing down, trying something new and enjoying the process. You’ll head home with your own handmade felted soaps and the confidence to keep exploring.
Complimentary tea, coffee, and water are provided during the workshop. You’re also very welcome to BYO wine, drinks, and nibbles if you’d like to make it a relaxed creative outing with friends.

Accessibility?
Garden of Wire Creative Workshop is located in one of Oberon’s old buildings and has some accessibility limitations. The entry is via two low wide steps. The toilet is located outside via two steps, a narrow side pathway and is a “typical” Australian brick outhouse with limited space. We understand this is not ideal but will assist with steadying hands if required. Not suitable for wheelchairs or mobility aid walkers.

I started this creative journey as I wanted a calmer way of working — one that gave me space to create, to redefine how I worked, who I worked for and to build something that truly felt worth my time and energy.
My first step was a market stall selling my wire art pieces, inspired by the workshops I had attended myself. As people began asking if I ran workshops and I continued to enjoy attending craft sessions, meeting like-minded people, creating, learning, and connecting, Garden of Wire Creative Workshops was born.
Along the way, I discovered the simple magic of connection: how sitting together with wire, natural elements, beads and quirky craft materials can spark conversation, laughter and a sense of belonging. That’s the heart of my workshops.
I offer whimsical wire art and creative craft classes that are gentle, welcoming, and fun. They’re not about competition or perfection — just about enjoying the process, taking a little time for yourself, and connecting with others in a relaxed, supportive, inclusive space.
No experience is needed — just an open mind and a positive attitude. My hope is that you leave not only with something handmade and uniquely yours, but also with a sense of calm, connection and the reminder that creativity is for everyone.
Garden of Wire Creative Workshops can host Birthdays, Hens nights, Date Nights, Christmas parties, Team Building and other private events.
