Also included still life drawing and contour drawing. The teacher Glenda was brilliant as she brought expertise and humour to the class. Plus I learnt a lot about where to go from here. I will be attending future classes at Hive studios.

  • 5/5 from Amanda Robey, attended Apr 2025: Thank you Glenda for a great workshop! Glenda's drawing workshop was very informative and it was great to have plenty of time to explore three different drawing techniques in a very relaxed, professional and encouraging atmosphere. The venue is excellent, organised and a great place to hold a workshop like this. Glenda also had the tools and equipment we would need during the days activities at our fingertips. A great day developing new skills and techniques.

  • 5/5 from Dagmar Titherington, attended Nov 2024: Glenda was inspiring in challenging us with the 'seeing' of negative space and using it to train our minds. We were encouraged to use various natural and found implements with ink of different colours. An exciting day that gave insight into developing and furthering our drawing skills. A truly wonderful workshop!
  • 5/5 from Alison Jarick, attended Nov 2024: Very enjoyable. A good balance of learning, challenge and relaxation. Glenda shared her experience, techniques and wisdom.
  • 5/5 from Susie Borges, attended Oct 2024: Walking into the dimly lit studio today there was the promise of adventure ahead! Working with charcoal, finger tips, bristle brush and water, we worked to capture tone made visible on the still life forms by the single source of lamplight. Glenda achieves novelty each fortnight and again I found myself challenged, surprised, and delighted by the creative experience. Always a worthwhile and enjoyable way to spend a morning. Thank you Glenda and lovely group members.
  • 5/5 from Susie Borges, attended Oct 2024: Such a pleasing way to spend a morning, I once again found the class to be engaging, challenging, friendly, and absorbing… Glenda’s manner is relaxed and she moves with the ease of a practiced teacher, inviting and encouraging our individual creativity, building confidence where necessary with reminders that there can never too many lines, or to beware and withhold the inner critic!
  • 5/5 from Judith Thompson, attended Oct 2024: Another challenging and rewarding drawing session. It was great experimenting with new drawing tools and materials.
  • 5/5 from Christine Ling, attended Oct 2024: Great and great inspiring teacher today. Enjoyed it and learnt a lot about drawing today.
  • 5/5 from Sandra Taylor, attended Aug 2024: Glenda's drawing classes are challenging but fun! She is always well prepared, has materials to share with us if they are needed., and always has ideas to help us if we get stuck! The location at Art from the Urban Wilderness is ideal
  • 5/5 from Dagmar Titherington, attended Aug 2024: The class was very creative, pushing us to explore new media and teaching us to really 'look' at our subject. With the guidance of Glenda, our tutor, we continued reformatting our image and creating new compositions, some planned some more free-form. The whole process was a lot of fun. Definitely an A+ for the whole morning and the venue.
  • 5/5 from Susie Borges, attended Jul 2024: Today’s class was great. I find that Glenda balances encouragement and challenge in equal measure. I like that we’re encouraged to use different (unfamiliar) media, that there’s instruction and direction offered, and then space/time to work, experiment, draw, oneself. Small class size means Glenda can take time with each participant. Working in a group is great - there’s exposure to different approaches and individual interpretation, and the atmosphere is warm and convivial. I find the studio space is calm, spacious and inspirational.
  • 5/5 from Debbie Farmer, attended Jun 2024: This was a fantastic experience. Glenda is really knowledgeable, encouraging and inspiring. The space is perfect with lots of additional and interesting materials and tools. I thoroughly enjoyed the class and am very keen to do it again. A lovely friendly environment. Thank you!
