In this botanical wreath-making workshop in Collingwood, you’ll create a festive wreath using fresh, locally sourced foliage, sunny botanicals, and playful summer trims. Think natural textures, vibrant colour, and relaxed Aussie charm.

This class is beginner-friendly and perfect for anyone wanting to craft a wreath with a more contemporary, unique feel. No experience needed -- just come along, soak up the creativity, and enjoy a slow, seasonal afternoon with like-minded makers.

What to expect:

  • Learn how to design, layer, and build a wreath from scratch.

  • Work with fresh local foliage, botanicals and sustainable materials.

  • Discover techniques for shaping, styling and balancing your composition.

  • Make a fully compostable wreath or reuse/repurpose the base if you'd like.

  • All tools, bases, fresh materials and trims provided.

  • 2.5 hours of creativity, good tunes, drinks flowing and festive vibes.

  • Guided by Nic from Made in the Afternoon, known for warm and thoughtful creative events.

If you’ve participated in a Made in the Afternoon wreath event before and would like to reuse your wreath base, a discount will be applied to your ticket.

You’ll walk away with a bespoke wreath ready to brighten your door or table centrepiece and a heart full of cheer from a joyful, community-minded workshop.

Please note: This class requires at least 5 students to run. In the unlikely event that we don't get this number of students, we'll cancel the class and fully refund you and inform you via email, so please watch your email a few days prior to the class.

We’ve teamed up with Australia’s brightest creative minds to share their knowledge and help teach you a new skill. From 3D printing and stencil art through to music and gardening – life skills and personal development through to cooking doughnuts and mushroom foraging, we offer a broad range of fun and creative short courses to suit our time poor lives. We will inspire you to pick up that pen, paintbrush, hammer or sewing machine and flick the switch that will kickstart a whole new way of life.
Community values lie at the heart of our project. We collaborate with local artists and industry experts to teach classes and utilise local suppliers for any materials needed. We also provide a creative environment for emerging artists to produce and sell work, and meet like minded individuals. Work-Shop will be a space for everyone, with a rotating schedule of art shows, information nights on local issues and a whole range of events and community initiatives.
