Get ready to unleash your inner artist with our fabulous stained glass garden mosaic course! This isn't just any ordinary crafting course; we’re diving into a world of creativity using stained glass to create a one-of-a-kind garden decoration that will be the talk of all your friends!
This course is perfect for everyone! Whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned DIY guru, come with your imagination and leave with a stunning piece that showcases your unique style. So grab a friend, bring your adventurous spirit and let’s turn stained glass into a mosaic that’s bursting with personality. We can’t wait to see what you create!
In this course, you will learn how to cut and shape stained glass and adhere it to a substrate that is able to live outside in your garden. A number of shapes to choose from (when you book)!
Make a fun clear acrylic suncatcher, an elegant mirrored panel, or a PVC garden stake ready to hang in your garden. Your design is limited only by your imagination (and the shape of the base)!
Choose from a variety of bases:
  • Mirrored panels (30cm tall) - Rectangle, Oval, or Teardrop;
  • Suncatchers (20cm tall/wide, wide a beaded hanger to match) - Seahorse, Teardrop, or Flower;
  • Garden Stake (20cm high with a Stainless Steel Stake) - Flying Bird, Butterfly, Flower, or Teardrop.
You can tile the back of the mirrored panels or garden stakes at a later date as we have done, if you wish. Merlin Mosaica has mixed glass packs available for sale.
Don't miss this chance to indulge in artistic expression and connect with fellow art enthusiasts. As you can see from the photos, pieces can be so individual!
Course overview:
Saturday: This course runs from 10am - 4pm. You will design your piece, shape stained glass and apply it to the base.
Sunday: This morning (9:30 - noon), we will be grouting your pieces using a super-smooth cement grout. Alternatively, you can elect to take a grout pack home on the Saturday and grout in your own time. Whilst you are all grouting your pieces, your teacher will make the beaded hangers for the suncatchers.

Teacher Ali was very easy to learn from, and very patient (with me especially …I’m nearly 73). We both came away with a host of new skills, not to mention our lovely garden stakes which already hold pride of place in the garden. I made the butterfly and my daughter made the teardrop. We both feel very accomplished having been able to do this. Ali is so very knowledgeable about all things “ glass”, and didn’t mind how many questions we asked. She even presented us with a homemade batch of Portuguese tarts for morning tea. Delicious! I’m so happy we did this course and have no hesitation recommending Merlin Mosaica. Thankyou Ali for giving me the interest to want to pursue this further.

I have been an artist for as long as I can remember. As a painter I have exhibited in Melbourne, and regional NSW.
My key driver is a love and understanding of colour & texture.
I have collected glass for many years and have visited glass factories in Venice.
I made my first mosaic in 2005.  My material of choice is stained glass.
After many years in IT, I decided to engage in my passion for colour and glass, and want to share my love of this medium with others
