The process of building up your artistic skills to the point where you can accurately depict the image that sits in your mind’s eye is an exceptionally powerful practice, and we have an ever-expanding range of art classes and drawing workshops in Canberra to help you realise your full artistic potential.

All of our instructors place a strong emphasis on creating art classes with a relaxing and inclusive environment, allowing you to express yourself and discover your own artistic style and ability in a judgement-free space. Finding your own personality within your art is an exciting and inventive process, and our instructors give you the tools to show you how to bring your own personality to the images you construct. And, with an ever-increasing range of art classes in Canberra, there’s something for everyone, no matter what your taste or level of experience is.

So if you’re a complete newcomer to watercolour painting, we have beginners workshops that’ll give you a comprehensive rundown of all the basic techniques and tricks you’ll need. Perhaps you’ve painted before, but want to try an art class with a difference? Our acrylic pouring and resin art classes are a fantastic way to experiment with a new and exciting medium of art! Whatever you choose, our easy booking system allows you to choose art classes in Canberra that suit your time and your budget. With both public sessions and private workshops, you can book according to price, availability, and any potential occasion or experience gift you may be planning. With such flexibility, our art classes in Canberra can work around even the busiest of schedules, and allow you to plan according to your lifestyle.

Rejuvenating art workshops and local experiences

Discovering how to paint is one of the most emotionally rewarding journeys you can take. Although it can be daunting, being shown the basics of how to paint and learning crucial techniques and tips can help you really shine. With painting classes ranging from across all different mediums and styles, our Canberra workshops have something for everyone. If you’re looking for fun things to do in Canberra for a birthday or a hens night, our paint and sip sessions are ideal for anyone looking to get artsy with a glass of wine in hand.

Acrylic pouring and fluid art is a relatively new medium. Made famous by viral videos, fluid art is the method of pouring thinned acrylic paint onto the canvas, using a variety of colours and styles of paint to create an overall abstract work of art. Still relatively new, fluid art is one of the best things to do in Canberra if you’re looking for a quirky art class that’s a little off the beaten track, and away from the usual suspects of art classes and painting workshops.

Learning how to draw is the basis for all visual art and a fantastic place to start if you’re looking for things to do in Canberra that’ll really benefit your artistic chops. One of the benefits of sketching classes and beginners drawing workshops is that the exploration of shape and form translates across nearly every artistic medium, and gives you a strong base to expand your skillset in the future. And, unlike painting, you can virtually draw anywhere and requires minimal equipment thereby saving you money in the long run, and allows you to continue your artistic journey on a budget.

Short photography courses in Canberra are a fantastic experience if you’re looking to get out from behind the easel. Learning proper DSLR photography skills is perfect if you’re wanting to make the most out of your camera. Whether you’re chasing a public photography class with likeminded snappers, or looking for a more personal one-on-one session, our photography workshops in Canberra can help you nail the nuances of photo composition, shutter speeds, and how to manipulate natural light to give your images a feeling and stand out from the rest.

Fun Indoor Activities

Being creative - in any discipline - is a fantastic stress reliever, and incredibly effective at lowering blood pressure. Art therapy has grown in popularity within the medical community in recent years, due to its ability to help those suffering from depression, anxiety disorders and PTSD. Being able to convey abstract emotions through an artistic medium has incredibly therapeutic benefits, and the motor skills involved with learning a new pastime have also been found to ward off degenerative brain disorders. Want to learn or experience something specific? You can easily contact our teachers and arrange a custom workshop at your preferred time and to suit your skill level.

If you’re looking for a unique and memorable event these workshops are perfect things to do with friends on the weekend, for aged care groups, team building exercises, indoor things to do, and kids weekend activities. We've got a range of teachers who cater specifically to larger events, and we can customise classes to meet your needs.Get in touch today and we'll put something together for you.
