Looking for a way to explore Canberra through the lens and learn photography skills? At this night photography workshop, you will learn how to take spectacular night photos with the guidance of an award-winning commercial photographer. It's a must-do in Canberra!

This beginner-friendly photography workshop will teach you great tips on how to take stunning night photos and how to use the manual settings on your camera, so you can be in full control and obtain the results you want.

In this workshop, we will cover:

  • Manual mode
  • Focus at night
  • Colour balance
  • ISO
  • Creative applications
  • Portrait photography
  • Cityscapes
  • Light trailing

This photography course which starts at dusk is designed for you to learn a range of settings for all different types of night photography. You'll be given the knowledge to be able to capture anything at night from fireworks to night-portraits.


Knowledge Required
Beginner-friendly and all levels welcome.
 
What you'll get
Two-hour tuition with an award-winning commercial photographer and your own photos from the class.
 
What to bring
  • An external flash if your camera does not have an inbuilt one
  • Camera manual downloaded on your phone or hard copy if handy
  • Film or digital camera of which you have a basic working knowledge and your camera manual (if you are using film, please let us know ahead of time)
  • One empty 4GB or larger memory card or 2 x 36 roll of film
  • Fully charged battery
  • Your booking confirmation (on your phone or printed out)
Suitable for

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 14 years old). Adult accompaniment is not required.

The first job she landed was working as a professional photographic printer. This course was a lot of fun and informative. It took you though the basics of night photography in a way that was easy to understand and I was given to tools to take some amazing photos.
