School Holiday Workshop: Come and Make a Jewellery Box or Treasure Chest and Jewellery/Keyring for kids

  $44 - $60 ($60 per guest when you book for 1 guest, $55/guest for 2+ guests, $44/guest for 9+ guests. $50 per class surcharge applies for private classes)
Kids will have a great experience either making and taking home their own beautiful jewellery box, bracelet and necklace or treasure chest with treasures! Perfect for school holiday activities in Melbourne, casual drop-in sessions and birthday parties for kids!
Children can choose between making a jewellery box or a treasure chest. For the jewellery box, each child will get a wooden jewellery box which they will first paint and then decorate with beautiful blingy beads including rhinestones and pearls and letters for a name.
Once complete, children can make a necklace and bracelets using gorgeous pony beads in translucent glitter or solid rainbow colours, as well as choosing a charm for their necklace and bracelet from a large choice.
For the treasure chest, each child will get a wooden treasure chest which they will first paint and then decorate with coins, crossbones or a design of their choice and letters for a name. Once complete, children can make a keyring with beads and charms. Inside the treasure chest will be an eye patch, two stick-on tattoos and a coin to begin their collection of treasures!
All kids will take home their complete jewellery box and jewellery or treasure chest and treasures.
Making a bead jewellery box/treasure chest and threading beads is a calming and mindful experience. This, together with being creative, social and relaxing, makes it a unique experience where kids are happy to leave their technology at home and enjoy the moment.

What you'll get
You will get either a Jewellery Box or Treasure Chest which you will paint and decorate with beads, designs and letters of your choice. Then you will get pony beads and charms to make either a necklace and bracelet or keyring.
Kids making the Treasure Chest will also get 2 tattoos, a coin and an eye patch.
You will take them home.
Knowledge required
No skills or knowledge required. Children can do this activity independently from four years plus.

My 7 year old son was fortunate to get a voucher after a friend couldn’t find a jewellery box that would suit him for his birthday. He had a brilliant time sharing this experience with a friend. It was a great balance of giving them guidance but also making them feel comfortable to follow their creative intuition to design boxes that they were proud of. Only thing I'd give for feedback is that the teacher - Merryl - who we encountered when we first walked in, could be warmer. She didn't smile, seemed angry at us actually. I thought it was because we were 10 mins late, but as there was no actual 'lesson' or anything and everyone was just working on their own things at their own pace, I wonder why she was so rude. The staff in general were quiet and not very welcoming or engaging. So the atmosphere wasn't the best, but we bought our own fun and we engaged our staff member Olivia into lots of chat and she warmed up to us, so that was great and as everyone is left to their own devices - we really enjoyed our experience.

We run adult classes, specialised workshops and casual sessions, team building workshops and corporate events in either mosaic or glass fusing. We also offer kids classes, casual sessions and holiday programs. You don’t need any experience to attend. We have great, well-trained and friendly staff who will help you with your creations.
