Meryl was able to adapt the teaching and the class to each of our needs and everyone could move at their own pace and we all ended with very different and amazing pieces and the skills and knowledge to take this further at home if we wanted. Very helpful handout with all the equipement etc summarised will also be super useful in the future. Highly recommend!

Meryl was welcoming, patient, and guided each of us in creating our own individual designs. • 5/5 from Davina Dadley-Moore, attended Mar 2026: Wonderful class. Meryl catered for absolute beginners and those who were more experienced, and she genuinely wanted us to create the beautiful object that we were interested in, whether it be for indoors or outdoors or be from one of her templates, an image or our own imagination. I had a lot of fun. And given my skill level and generally low artistic abilities, I was surprised to take home a gorgeous, fully completed artwork that did not exist in the world at the beginning of the day.

Merryl so generously shared her wealth of mosaic knowledge, offering lots of advice and patiently answering all my questions. She has a huge range of glass in all the colours of the rainbow that are freely available for use by the students. I’m very happy with my finished piece and am keen to make another one. I’m confident that anyone who attends one of Merryls sessions will thoroughly enjoy the creative process, friendly and warm hospitality and learning from an expert who is happy to share her expertise.

  • 5/5 from Tara Webb, attended Sep 2024: I attended the class with a girlfriend, as we both have been wanting to be a bit more creative. • 5/5 from Deirdre Martinz, attended Sep 2024: Really enjoyed the beginners mosaic workshop. Meryl was very informative and helpful. Very happy with my experience and we all got our projects completed on the day. Would recommend for anyone wanting to give it a go.
  • 5/5 from Dustin Brincat, attended Aug 2024: Merryl was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire day. On site were tools (grinders, powered cutters) and materials including the large glass sheets, which I hadn't been aware of previously; a great eye-opener to the world of mosaics. On display in the studio were several completed works and works-in-progress; observing these works yielded great insight into the different techniques and the results possible. Whilst I'm still very much in the novice category, Merryl imparted her sound knowledge which I felt really improved my skills by the end of the class. The cookies were delicious too :)
  • 5/5 from Melissa Watt, attended May 2024: All good vibes at Merryls!! Her wealth of knowledge, great organisation and friendliness really made this day shine. There were about seven of us on the course And we had all finished our own beautiful and unique piece by the end of the day. Comments heard from the other participants that day “such a great day! I’m really enjoying this” and “I’ve definitely found a new hobby”. I brought in my own hand drawn picture which was brought to life so beautifully. Lots of great advice on colour and tile placement from the group. I’m hooked :)
  • 5/5 from Jill Shelton, attended May 2024: Really enjoyed all aspects of this intensive mosaic class. Merryl is a great teacher, very calm and thorough. • 5/5 from Lynda Millen, attended Nov 2023: I loved this course. Merryl is an excellent teacher, the space is fabulous & everything we could possibly need was provided. I learnt a lot & surprised myself with the end result. I’ll be returning for sure.
  • 5/5 from Anna Rizio, attended Nov 2023: Merryl was very helpful and easy going, she went through all the basics and answered all of our questions. She offered advice on colours and assisted as needed. It was a relaxing day with easy listening music in the background and everyone working away on their pieces. There was no pressure, just considered guidance, but still allowing for your own creativeness in your piece. Merryl was very flexible for those of us that didn’t finish our pieces, offering a few option to help finish them and offered glass to take home to continue working on the pieces, I didn’t feel that we were rushed into finishing them. Overall I enjoyed the day, the mosaic work wasn’t hard, but not as easy as I had anticipated, it is about the size of the pieces, the spacing etc. Cutting all the glass etc takes up a good part of the time, but an important skill to learn if you are going to continue with Mosaics. The level of support by Merryl and her assistant throughout the day was just right and non judgemental (for the newbies!). There is an LOT of glass to work with, and all the tools are provided. And, yes the cookies are wonderful :-).

Merryl is such a great teacher, she is very thorough and clear in her approach and was also very patient with everyone. Everything was provided, even drinks and bikkies. The range of glass tiles available was endless, there was something just right for everyone’s project. Thanks Merryl and your team for such a great workshop, it was very cathartic and relaxing, the time just flew by, and I left with a finished project that I am very proud of. I invited my bestie to join me, it was just what we needed having time for ourselves and with each other, being creative. I’ll definitely be back to spend time in your amazing workshop to create my next projects 10/10
  • 5/5 from Chris, attended Oct 2023: Merryl was extremely helpful throughout the workshop. If you weren’t sure of a particular colour Merryl would know exactly what would work, find it in her collection of tiles and hand you a container of evenly cut squares. She was extremely hospitable, making each of us, either tea or coffee and offering some delicious biscuits for morning tea. I found the workshop really enjoyable and most relaxing. It was great being able to do something for ‘me’. I’m looking forward to more mosaic workshops. Thank you, Merryl

  • 5/5 from Tom, attended Dec 2022: This was a truly fantastic day and our group of four will definitely all be doing it again. Each of us came away with something we will cherish forever, and it's not often you can say that. The guidance and support was wonderful and everyone was super-friendly. Everything was made to feel easy. As our teacher noted, this is a forgiving medium and, with no prior experience, I was able to produce something of which I am truly proud image attached.
  • 5/5 from Gaby Banens, attended Dec 2022: Fantastic class run by Fleur and George. Learned about the materials, tools, and cutting techniques. Lots of templates and examples to draw inspiration from, and then spent the majority of the day creating! The instructors were so lovely and helpful, but also gave time and space for you to work. There was such an extraordinary array of beautiful glass to choose from - deciding which colours and patterns to work with was one of the hardest parts. Had an absolute blast! All of us loved our final products - and everyone in the class was planning to return :) Thanks for a great day!
