Flower Picking and Arranging Workshop

Field to Vase, Flower Picking and Arranging at our Yarra. Valley Flower Farm

1.5 hours Class size 1 to 24 guests

$65 - $125 ($65 for Small Vase; $85 for Medium Vase; $125 for Large Vase)

Step into a morning of creativity, fresh air and floral abundance at our family-run farm in Silvan. This hands-on workshop invites you to slow down, breathe deeply and reconnect with nature as you gather blooms and craft your own seasonal garden-style arrangement.
Begin Among the Blooms
We’ll start the day with a guided tour of our working flower farm, set high on a hilltop with sweeping views over the Victorian Yarra Valley. You’ll explore rows of dahlias, fragrant heirloom varieties and rare seasonal flowers — many of which are grown exclusively on our farm. Armed with a bucket and snips, you’ll pick your own selection of fresh, farm-grown stems to work with.
Create with Nature
You’ll learn the foundations of natural floral design, guided by our sustainable floristry philosophy. We’ll share tips on harvesting, conditioning and arranging flowers to celebrate their natural form and beauty. Using your freshly picked blooms, you’ll create a loose, garden-inspired vase arrangement that captures the character and colour of the season.
Our Farm & Philosophy
At Botaniculture, everything we do begins with the soil. Grown in rich volcanic earth, our flowers are nurtured with care, respect and a commitment to low-impact, environmentally friendly practices. We take pride in growing all the ingredients we use, choosing rare, scented and heirloom varieties that you won’t find anywhere else. Each bloom tells a story of place, season and craft.
A Morning Well Spent
Enjoy time surrounded by flowers, fresh country air and likeminded flower lovers. Whether you’re new to floristry or simply love being outdoors, you’ll leave with new skills, inspiration and a beautiful arrangement to take home.
Spaces are limited to keep the workshop personal and hands-on. Early booking is encouraged — we’d love to welcome you to our flower farm.

My friend and I were warmly welcomed by Bel and Mark to their beautiful flower farm, where rows of vibrant blooms were available for us to pick from. Bel was incredibly knowledgeable and guided us through creating a well-balanced vase arrangement with ease. Highly recommended, we’ll definitely be back next season.

  • 5/5 from Kiri Moana, attended Mar 2026: I recently attended the Field to Vase workshop for beginners at Botaniculture, and it was absolutely delightful from start to finish. Such a fun, hands-on experience that felt both relaxed and inspiring. I honestly could have spent the entire day just wandering and admiring their breathtaking dahlias — they were truly stunning and in such beautiful condition. Being surrounded by so many gorgeous blooms made the whole experience feel magical. Bel was so friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful throughout the workshop. She made everything easy to follow and created such a warm, encouraging atmosphere for beginners. Highly recommend this experience to anyone who loves flowers or simply wants a wholesome, creative day out. I’ll definitely be back!
  • 5/5 from Conor Cudden, attended Mar 2026: We were blessed with a stunning morning of weather which Bel and Mark matched with a fabulous workshop. They were so helpful during the booking process and the course itself is great value for money. Could not recommend more

  • 5/5 from Sarah Thackwray, attended Mar 2026: We had a great time doing the field to vase workshop! Bel and Mark were so knowledgeable and took the time to answer some of our questions regarding growing cut flowers in a different climate. Will 100% be back! Thanks so much for a great experience, definitely the highlight of our time in the Dandenongs
  • 5/5 from Deanne Dawe, attended Mar 2026: What an amazing way to spend a Sunday morning. Bel was such a great teacher and was very welcoming The flowers were beautiful and our vase arrangement turned out to be stunning. Would highly recommend!!
  • 5/5 from Raezyl Maderazo, attended Mar 2026: The flower arrangement class was amazing, definitely worth the drive! Communication was great even before the session started, which already made the experience feel smooth and welcoming. The farm itself was beautiful! Fair warning though, if you’re someone who struggles with choosing, you might find it a bit challenging (in a good way!) because there’s such a wide range of gorgeous colors to pick from. It helps to come with a color palette in mind… or just go with whatever you’re naturally drawn to. What I loved most was how Bel and Mark would check in on you throughout the class. Bel gives the best tips to help your vase look balanced and beautiful, but at the same time, she really lets you be creative and make the arrangement your own. Such a fun and thoughtful experience highly recommend!
  • 5/5 from Angelika Kokhova, attended Feb 2026: We had an amazing day with my friend and created a nice bunches of flowers. Bel and Mark did a great a great job. Highly recommended.
  • 5/5 from Belinda Collins, attended Feb 2026: Beautiful setting Bella was amazing and very patient Loved it from start to finish And very happy with my flower arrangement
  • 5/5 from Lynne McLennan, attended Jan 2026: Bel was a very capable and personable teacher. Relaxed and fun class and I learnt a lot. I’ve been picking flowers from my garden and jamming them in a vase for years with highly variable outcomes. Learnt great techniques for how to pick, what to pick, and how to create a stable vase arrangement without resorting to florists foam or chicken wire. Realised I have many options in my garden for the green ‘base’ foliage. Good value for money as you get to take home your jar and arrangement. Would highly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Vildana, attended Jan 2026: Lovely outdoor session! We really enjoyed our morning learning about flowers and then getting to create our own bouquets. Will highly recommend!
  • 5/5 from Winona Bonne, attended Jan 2026: Great experience with Bel and Mark! So helpful and patient. Will definitely tell all my friends about this place.
  • 5/5 from Michaela Piritidis, attended Jan 2026: Attended for my friend's hens and were lucky to have a gorgeous morning lead by Bel. It was such a fun class where we learned how to arrange a vase but still make our own design choices. I 100% recommend.
  • 5/5 from Wendy Yong, attended Jan 2026: Bel and Mark were the perfect hosts. We had so much fun making these and would love to return again!
  • 4/5 from Kate Helms, attended Jan 2026: I loved this workshop! Was beautiful having access to the dahlias and native foliage on the farm and being able to choose from the abundant colours and varieties of flowers. The facilitators were super friendly and accommodating. It was a relaxed atmosphere and a gorgeous spot overlooking the flower farm. I feel like I wanted a little more guidance on shape, design, colour or specifics of a floral arrangement - that said we had the freedom to be expressive without many rules and could as as many questions as we pleased. I would recommend the workshop - particularly with a friend or family member, would be a gorgeous morning out. Thanks Bel and Mark!
  • 5/5 from Rebecca Hann, attended Dec 2025: This was amazing. I am a potato when it comes to flower arranging, they were so lovely and informative. Obviously love what they are doing and it shows. Flower farm is beautiful. Large range to choose from. They were supportive throughout the whole process. Love mine.
  • 5/5 from Jodi French, attended Dec 2025: Mum and I had the most enjoyable day! Bel & Matk are wonderful hosts & teachers. Thank you for the amazing experience
  • 5/5 from Rachel Watkins, attended Mar 2025: I had such a fun and relaxing morning at the farm flower picking As always Bel is so knowledgeable and friendly making her workshops a comfortable and welcoming space for everyone, after a tour of the farm and a demo of what and how to pick the flowers, Bel then jumps back in to demonstrate how to arrange a vase arrangement then it was mindful time; snipping stems, enjoying being undercover outdoors and creating something unique and beautiful with our freshly cut flowers. Like all Botaniculture workshop this one was great value for money, well organised, had extremely good communication (directions to the farm with pictures), and was run by a dedicated and kind family. What I really love is no matter your interest in flowers and your abilities everyone always leaves one of Bel’s workshops with a beautiful arrangement, wreath, bouquet or in this case vase of flowers. I think the farm experience adds something a little different and overall the workshop is great for a date, bonding with the parents or a girls morning out. Overall relaxing and having fun in a field of flowers is a great way to spend your morning developing new skills and connecting to nature can’t recommend enough
  • 5/5 from Emily Ma, attended Mar 2025: This flower farm is absolutely stunning, with beautiful scenery filled with different varieties and colors of dahlias for picking. The flowers are large, vibrant, and incredibly fresh. The staff are all very kind and patient, offering guidance throughout the experience. In addition to flowers, the farm also offers a variety of foliage, including eucalyptus, sage, and banksia, which adds a lovely touch to the arrangement. After picking, they provide vases and offer tips on flower arranging. Since we brought young children along, the staffs were very thoughtful, allowing us to explore and pick freely in the flower fields. They also provided flower carriers to help us take our blooms home safely. Their kindness and hospitality truly made the experience unforgettable. Highly recommend this farm to anyone looking for a beautiful and relaxing flower-picking experience!
  • 5/5 from Liz Pethica, attended Mar 2025: We had a lovely morning with Belle and Mark! They had an abundance of beautiful blooms in a spectacular setting. They generously shared their expert knowledge about flower farming and arranging!! Would highly recommend this class
  • 5/5 from Grace Gostelow, attended Mar 2025: Bel and Mark were incredibly warm and welcoming to us all at their lovely farm. They are the best of hosts and workshop facilitators. The workshop began with an introduction and run through of what the experience would entail. Mark, who is a highly qualified horticulturalist, then gave us a tour of the flower farm and ran through the plants we would be using, how to pick the best flowers and foliage, and the correct way to harvest. Bel, who is a florist and floriculture expert, then ran us through how to create a seasonal flower arrangement. Both Bel and Mark were very encouraging and helpful as we all created our own unique arrangement. The experience was wonderful and exceeded all out expectations. We highly recommend the experience. It would be a wonderful birthday or hens party activity too.

I would've appreciated more time to spend on this. Perhaps the intro elements could be condensed a bit to enable more time, although the tour of the farm was perfect as it was Thanks so much Sue
