2.5 hours Class size 1 to 6 guests       $90 (PayPal Pay in 4 available)

Join embroidery artist Emma from Yarn Industries for a relaxing and creative afternoon of stitching, where you’ll embroider your very own set of two cotton napkins. Choose from a selection of floral or culinary-inspired designs and learn how to bring them to life, stitch by stitch.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll be guided through a range of beginner-friendly embroidery stitches and pick up plenty of tips and tricks to help your stitches look neat and confident. As embroidery is a slow process, you may not have enough time to complete both napkins, but Emma will share troubleshooting advice along the way and ensure everyone leaves feeling inspired and capable to keep stitching at home.
Perfect for complete beginners or enthusiastic stitchers wanting a mindful afternoon of making, this workshop is a wonderful way to slow down, learn a new craft, and create something both personal and practical.
By the end of the session, you’ll have started your embroidered napkins (and may even finish them!), along with the confidence, materials, and know-how to complete them at your own pace.

Hi, I’m Emma, the hands (and heart) behind Yarn Industries, a hand embroidery studio based in Naarm/Melbourne. From my tiny 2m² studio, I create detailed, hand-stitched works inspired by Australia’s incredible native flora and Melbourne’s beautiful architecture. My work ranges from one-of-a-kind embroidered art hoops and accessories to beginner-friendly embroidery kits designed to make this timeless craft accessible to everyone.
My love for embroidery began with through my mum and nanna. They inspired the stitching life in me and first showed me how to thread a needle and bring fabric to life with colour and texture. That early connection sparked a lifelong passion for slow, mindful making and for keeping this traditional art form alive in the modern world.
Over the years, I’ve built Yarn Industries into a creative space where I can share that passion with others through workshops and embroidery kits. I love teaching because it allows people to reconnect with their creativity, learn something new, and find calm in the rhythmic process of stitching. There’s something really special about watching people slow down, switch off from daily noise, and feel proud of creating something entirely by hand.
My workshops are designed to be warm, relaxed, and inspiring. A place for craft lovers and budding stitchers to come together, learn, create, and share. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or rediscovering embroidery after years away, you’ll leave feeling confident, inspired, and eager to keep stitching.
Embroidery is a gentle reminder to take things one stitch at a time. A therapeutic, mindful activity that rewards patience and creativity in equal measure. I can’t wait to share that joy with you.
