  • 5/5 from Dylan Rudkowski, attended Jul 2026: Amazing teacher, really knew her stuff about making jewellery. My fiancée and I definitely learnt a lot. We did this the day that we got engaged and loved it! Would definitely recommend!
  • 5/5 from Jenny Liew, attended Jun 2026: We had such a fun time making our rings! The beaten ring was my favourite part—it was so satisfying to keep beaten/hammering it! You just have to be careful not to beat it too much, or it will become too big. Helene is a wonderful teacher and explained everything so clearly. We learned so much about the physics and chemistry behind the ring-making process. My husband and I really enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you, Helene, for such a fun and memorable workshop!
  • 5/5 from Chloe Jones, attended Apr 2026: We had a lovely time at Helen’s workshop. Helen was so full of knowledge and was a lovely host. The final pieces of jewellery we made were beautiful. This was such a wonderful experience. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area!
  • 5/5 from Trish Sonsie, attended Jan 2026: Such an informative and relaxing afternoon. Helen is a great teacher and very knowledgeable. This was a birthday present fory daughter who made special memories and two beautiful rings. She was apprehensive about soldering but Helen was very supportive and encouraging.

  • 5/5 from Jeremy Thomas, attended Feb 2025: This was a really fun experience. Insightful teaching and guidance along the whole way. Leaving with our own Silver rings we are really proud of was an amazing memory. Highly recommend this experience.
  • 5/5 from Uta Meyer, attended Feb 2025: Great workshop, easy instructions and the result was 2 stunning rings. Highly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Karl Truscott-Schoffer, attended Jan 2025: Great course, a lot of information and skills packed into 3 hours. Much thanks goes to Helene who is a great teacher with amazing facilities. As with lots of maker things, courses are much cheaper than trying to fumble your way into learning the skills that people have spent years learning (hundreds to use tried and tested facilities vs thousands on buying your own gear with still no idea).
  • 5/5 from Randall Charles Oakham, attended Sep 2024: Highly recommend, Helen is such a fantastic teacher! The studio is amazing, with stunning scenery. Well worth the trip up the mountain. We left with 2 rings each that look like something you'd buy from a jeweller...but it was us! Thanks Helen we had a tops time, will come back.
  • 5/5 from Dylan Didier Battye, attended Sep 2024: Wonderful course in a beautiful studio, could be happier with the rings we made! 10/10 thank you so much!
  • 5/5 from Dean Wan, attended Feb 2024: My wife and I booked a private ring making class with Helene. It was a really fantastic experience. Helene was patient, thorough as a teacher and great fun to learn from and work with. The workshop was clean and organised and the tools were in good shape as well. We loved the end result and I'd thoroughly recommend this class to anyone interested in jewellery making or just making something with your hands.
  • 5/5 from Lily Pavlovic, attended Jan 2024: My fiance and I recently attended Helene's silver ring making workshop for two class to create wedding rings for one another. Even before the session began, Helene's communication with us was excellent. She kindly provided us with detailed directions on alternate ways to get to the studio considering a road closure on the main route at the time. When we arrived at Tall Trees Studio, we were welcomed to the workshop, which was a bright and cosy space. Helene walked us through the entire ring making process, from shaping the band, to connecting it together, sanding, polishing and final design. Helene was brilliant in helping us to create and execute a design we particularly had in mind, taking special care to add personal touches for our wedding bands, such as offering us to stamp our initials on the inside of our rings. Throughout the session, Helene shared interesting tidbits about the history and strength of different materials used in making rings and jewellery. We had so much fun that the hours flew by! We were so happy to finish the day taking home the gorgeous rings we made. Thank you Helene for such a wonderful day, we look forward to wearing our rings soon!
  • 5/5 from Anita Ovenden, attended Sep 2023: Helen our teacher was so passionate and dedicated to her craft and that was conveyed in the way that she spoke, taught and guided us. She was patient with us and was not quick to fix our mistakes which we enjoyed. She happily guided us on fixing our own mistakes and when needed she jumped in and fixed them for us. Our experience was so special and having Helen their to guide us was truly something. We made our beaten rings into our wedding rings and the embossed rings into something fun for everyday living. We honestly cannot recommend this enough.
  • 5/5 from Jaclyn Alburey, attended Aug 2023: Absolutely loved the silver ring workshop. Helen was so lovely and knowledgeable and explained every step perfectly. It was the perfect balance of Helen demonstrating what to do and then being able to try and put it into practice, while adding your own creative flair. I made two silver rings, one beaten ring and one embossed ring. The whole process was really interesting and I was so happy with the way they turned out, especially having never made a ring before!

Tall Trees Studio now has two dedicated Tutors for our various workshops.
Helene for all Precious Metal Forming Jewellery Workshops and Siobhan for all Beading Jewellery Workshops.
Helene is the owner and Goldsmith in Tall Trees Studio & Gallery and lives on Mt Dandenong. Helene's passion is handcrafted jewellery, not the mass produced items being produced by casting in factories. Traditional slow hand crafted, starting from granule, alloying to carat, making sheet and wire, then hand crafting the pieces, incorporating both traditional and contemporary techniques.
Helene enjoy handcrafting jewellery so much that she finds that she loves sharing this passion with more people.
Siobhan is local to The Dandenong Ranges and has been running her own successful jewellery business and conducting creative workshops, for over 10 years. She first started learning different jewellery making skills in her teens before embarking on a more corporate career in Human Resources, Training and Development and being a mum to her three children.
Together with her vast jewellery making skills plus her qualifications in and love of training, she is now extending her workshop schedule to share her skills with us at Tall Trees Studio. Siobhan holds a current working with children check.
If you're familiar with Tall Trees Studio & Gallery then you will have seen Siobhan's extensive jewellery, under the brand Berjique Jewellery, on display since we first opened our doors.
Siobhan loves nothing more than to share her knowledge, create a warm, friendly and inclusive environment for learning and to have a few laughs while creating.
