What you'll do

During the two week course, you will be provided with all the materials you need, as well as step-by-step instruction from our experienced teacher. You'll explore a variety of application techniques, allowing you to experiment with different brush strokes, textures, and styles.

Don't worry if you've never worked with acrylics before! Our friendly instructor Ann, will guide you through the entire process, ensuring that you feel supported and confident in your abilities. They will offer tips and tricks along the way to help you achieve the desired effects.

With a focus on colour and composition, you'll have the freedom to let your creativity shine and create a unique abstract design. Whether you prefer bold, vibrant hues or soothing, muted tones, this course will teach you how to mix and blend colours to achieve the desired mood and atmosphere.

By the end of the course, you'll have completed a large canvas artwork that you can proudly display in your home.

I am Ann, and my business name is ann.russell.art. I am based in the north west suburbs of brisbane and have many years experience as a practicing artist and as an arts educator. Over the years, I have helped many people realise their creative potential and develop their own art work as a hobby, profession and for relaxation.

I love to paint in watercolour and mixed media and also create surreal assemblage sculptures using glass, resin, polymer clay and found objects.

I am passionate about helping everyone find their visual language and believe that everyone can paint, draw and develop their own style. I have studied art and education to post graduate level and love to pass on what I have learned to others.

As a practicing artist, I have exhibited locally, interstate and overseas and have been selected as a finalist for a number of prestigious exhibitions.
